Not a bad replacement in Lowe.

Williams have gone backwards since the promise of 2014, so maybe they thought Symonds was no longer the one to keep them up front and wanted to stop the slide before they went back to being back of the midfield again.

to be fair, the promise of 2014 was really more to do with the failure of Ferrari and Renault to build a competitive engine than anything Williams did, they were still miles off Mercedes pace for most races.

Yes, they were best of the rest which isn't saying much I guess, though some races they did give Merc a bit of a fright. But they haven't improved at all relative to Ferrari and RBR and even Force India now. Their relative pace now is worse than it was in 2014 when you look at the gap to Merc.

Alonso says F1 peaked in the 2000's. I agree.

Have you read the whole article. Another of his quotes was

"Formula 1 at that time, it was very boring," he said of the Senna/Prost era.
"If you see a race now from '85, '88 or '92, you will sleep through the race, because it was two McLarens, the fourth guy was lapped and there was 25 seconds between each car. There were 10 cars not finishing because the reliability was so-so.
"Television figures, spectators are going down [now], like it was in these boring years in the '80s where Senna, Prost and these people were saving fuel, saving tyres and things like that."

Seems more like sour grapes that he hasn't won anything since the golden era of the 2000's. That period when between 2001 and 2006, Ferrari and then Renault were dominant? Yeah, cos watching Schuey wrap up a WDC by the 9th or 10th GP of a season was gripping stuff <facepalm>

If the words in the article are truly his, then I am very disappointed to read what he has had to say.

Kubica has gained a seat in Bykolles the LMP1-Privateer for WEC 2017, good to see he is still going strong. He was a potential champion in F1.
Barrichello will appear in the Le Mans 24hrs for Dallara.

    He's over 25 so would've ticked Martini's box, shame he's a month late.
