The race to become 2015 FIM Speedway World Champion starts in Polish capital Warsaw as the stunning Stadion Narodowy hosts the Lotto Warsaw FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland on April 18. And if one of the country’s biggest ever speedway events wasn’t big enough, it will also see 2010 world champion Tomasz Gollob return to the SGP series as he was confirmed as the meeting wild card.

Great Britain international Craig Cook is on his way to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium for the second straight season after claiming the wild card for the Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix on July 4.
The Belle Vue and Edinburgh rider finished second to World Championship leader Tai Woffinden, who won his third consecutive national title in tonight’s British Championship Final at Wolverhampton. And with Woffy already in the field for the Welsh capital showcase, Cook earned the right to join the 2013 world champion and Chris Harris in world speedway’s flagship event.

Niels-Kristian Iversen topped the rostrum in front of over 40,000 fans at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Saturday night after scorching around Chris Holder on lap one to win the final of the GB Grand Prix in spectacular style.
His compatriot Peter Kildemand was third, while Britain’s World Championship leader Tai Woffinden must wait for his first home win after finishing fourth.
Woffinden did a partisan home crowd proud as he stormed into the semi-finals on 12 points, before winning his semi to reach the last four. But he missed the start in the medal race and couldn’t battle his way to what would have been a second straight rostrum appearance.
