I would like to go to way games but family commitments prevent it. I see on the Derbyshire Times website the Chairman has appealed for unity among supporters after their relegation. Natural that many of their fans will be pretty unhappy about dropping back into League Two, so I guess the atmosphere is going to either be pretty muted today, or somewhat spiky. Here's a little anecdote from Wiki; In the summer of 2016, Chesterfield organised a raffle with the prize being a trip to Hungary on the club's pre-season training camp. However, only four people bought the £20 tickets. The club falsely claimed that 'Surrey-based fan James Higgins' had won the prize, but had been too ill to travel. When it was discovered that James Higgins did not exist, the club issued an apology. Even KM hasn't had a day quite as bad as that yet! This is an almost meaningless game which (no disrespect to the Spireites) Charlton should be winning comfortably. Personally I'm not bothered if KR decides to give a few youngsters a run-out today, but preferably only once the game is won...
Big Gob has said he is going to give some of the kids a run out today, including Djikisteel, Edwardes & Aribo. Meire must be salivating at the prospect - she has her summer budget black hole to plug.
It looks like Texeira and Watt will be off. Today's team Rudd Byrne, Konsa, Pearce, Da Silva Crofts Ahearne-Grant, Aribo, Forster- Caskey, Holmes Magennis Subs Phillips, Barnes,Baeur, Djikisteel, Jackson, Botaka, Novak
A cracking finish to the game, with Chesterfield scoring & squandering chances, and then F-Caskey greedily taking Jacko's penalty, only to miss. At the end the players and Robinson got a clap - but the overwhelming majority of our 570 travelling support - real fans, not Internet Generals from ITTV - sang "Just Sell the Club" at them. MOM was Dillon Phillips, who kicked the ball pre kick off straight into Brian Cole's face I've been wanting to do that all season.
