    from SAFC.com

"New date and kick-off time for visit of North London side.

Sunderland AFC’s Barclays Premier League home game against Tottenham Hotspur has been rescheduled for live television broadcast.

The Black Cats’ face Spurs at the Stadium of Light this September, with the game now taking place on the later date of Sunday 13th September, 1.30pm kick-off."

    and so it begins!

I don't see why the premier league don't sit down with sky n BT first run through them. They both pick their games to show n they then release the fixtures and broadcasting schedule to the public.

Sadly they can't - imagine if they thought "Leicester and QPR will be a game for the last weekend - they're bound to both be fighting to survive" and it turns out that QPR were down and Leicester were safe well in advance! I think it's right the way they do it to a point but how the hell Newcastle got 10 games more than any of the bottom half last season is beyond me - for most of the season they were worse than us (particularly in the second half of the season - when Pardew left they were around 12 points ahead of us - they finished 2 points ahead!) There is a clear bias somewhere and I can;t work out why or where it comes from - I don;t expect uis to get 20 games (unless we have a Reid type season) but I expect the money awarded to each team at the end of a season to be relevant to their finishing position (Newcastle got more than Everton because of their TV revenue)

That's not great planning like. Spurs playing in Europe the Thursday before? They normally move all games to Sunday once they start playing in Europe.

I've explained this already Marcus - guaranteed goals in Newcastle games, normally not for Newcastle but what would you prefer Stoke vs West Ham 1-1 or Stoke vs Newcastle 5-0??

I dare bet that they have not realised that it clashed with the GNR when this has been done..

Theres no getting away from the fact that Newcastle are box office, most often for the wrong reasons nowadays. Feast or famine at SJP over the past few years, so sky will want the cameras there to witness it, whatever happens.

Sorry but it suits me fine.

It means we can come up on Saturday night, have a good drink and home on Sunday night.
