....and from far enough away if you are anything like me. I can actually recommend YouTube. Search for "Russian car crashes" for half an hour's innocent pleasure.
Lecointe injured in the development squad game against Truro, knee and looked bad apparently. Still looking weak on the left and would like to see a centre half too if Guy gets injured we will be in a pickle. Looks like we will be going for the goals from all positions rather than a 20 plus player approach.
But that's ok mexijan if we do it. I remember the points busting team where there was no 20 goal player or anywhere near it. Our backs did it on corners and midfield did it regularly. Wasn't Friio the top scorer once and Coughlan on another season. Worked ok then. As long as somebody pokes them in then there isn't a need for one player to top the listings in the league.
Friio got 15 goals that year though so closer to 20 than anything we currently have. Think maybe your thinking of Wotts rather than Cough he top scored twice if memory serves me right one year was not even double figures, 8 maybe. So perhaps old Wottsie will be our super striker again. Still very weak on the left, really cannot get excited about it this closed season need a ooohhhhh signing soon IMHO.
John Sheridan's search for a left-back continues........having already said no to Ryan Dickson and now also Martin John....his pursuit of Crystal Palace player Matt Parsons has come to an end because of Parsons being taken ill.
Chinese left-back Win Da Chang In Woom signing tomorrow. Not much know about him but apparently he is a little nippy. JS said he needed to fill a few chinks in the defence.
Blue chip club list on his CV - Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Portsmouth and Celtic. Managed just 18 senior appearances and left last club due to poor attitude and ill discipline. Can't fault Sheridan for bravery.......
Not just last club NDG, guy obviously has something talent wise but seems to be carrying a lot of baggage. Still lets see what happens maybe JS can straighten him out. He seems to already have burnt a few lifelines he has been thrown so maybe it has finally sunk into him and he will kick on to be a good player, as you said a lot of experienced managers have seen something in him footie wise.
My money's on him nutting the ref in the first 15 minutes of his debut. Or better still, both him and Chadwick getting sent off for nutting each other. Seriously, it's what you have to do in the depths of the league and good on Sheridan for trying it.
I bet Chadwick gets sent off first......although I hope Chadwick never plays for us again.....hopefully.
mmmmmm.......not a record to be excited about........doesn't look like he's had time anywhere to unpack his suitcase. Maybe ready to settle down and earn a living as a left-back......maybe Sheridan and his coaching team might help him to overcome his past.
Looks like Matt Lecointe's season is over before it has started....needing an operation on his knee ligament and will be out for the season. Good news on Nick Chadwick........they seemed to have discovered his brain........he will be out a month following a knee op....to wash out his knee.....they think there is maybe a bit of bone that is floating about in his joint....possibly his brain then.
We seem to have a bit of a track record for signing dodgy players attitude wise over the last few years. Most of them haven't worked out if we are honest. Sheridan has to be trusted on this because there is little choice in that but it does seem a risk. The bloke is getting to the point where he is now a grown up so perhaps this might be his last chance saloon and therefore he might finally realise it. Makes me sick how some of these people carry on. Most of us would have given anything to be a pro footballer and had the chance they get. Somebody with obvious talent yet a distinct lack of brain cells to go with it. There have been a few like that the more famous being Barton. A great player but a huge flaw in character. For us Walton is one who had been about a bit and people saw great things in him yet when push came to shove his attitude let him down big time. Fingers crossed then.
To an extent I think these big clubs centres of excellence do not help. The kids get there, get treated like stars, see the money thrown at the first team bench warmers/reserves and think they have already made it. Some of these 14-16 year olds think they are already IT. The coaching is obviously top notch but they would be better served in the boot room, cleaning the toilets, washing kit etc after training. I watched that series on sky a while back with the kids getting a second chance at Chelsea and they pamper these apprentices like they are stars. Considering the size of the place, the pick of the talent etc not that many breaking through into the first team. The academy here really should be getting a lot of praise not just for the standard of player we are producing but they seem to be pretty balanced individuals too. Bad news on LaCointe probably worse time in his career to lose a season, my mate said it looked bad when it happened hopefully a quick a problem free recovery.
So it looks like Andre Blackman will play against Yeovil this afternoon.....assuming all the paperwork is finalized in time.
Andre Blackman can obviously play the game judged on his performance yesterday- v skillful. Reservations on whether he may be caught out of position and/or not track back/forward when needed, but he came across as someone who has lots of technical ability and could be a real good signing if he can stay fit and out of trouble.....
