So Andre Blackman has completed his move to PAFC until the new year......if things go well I assume he will get a longer contract from Sheridan.....if he want's to stay of course.
Not a bad move in my book. Short contract for somebody with a chequered career behind him so far. Perform and he has a job, don't perform and he has a one way ticket to ride out of here. The CV is impressive and the reviews from the Yeovil match were quite acceptable given he was only in town for 5 minutes before kick off. Will be interesting to watch this space for a few weeks and see how this looks like going. I'm reasonably happy with this signing.
About time we made a half decent signing this time. Also we have only given a short contract instead of giving a lengthy one as in the past we have done and been lumbered with the rubbish,
John Sheridan went along on Sunday to watch the trial matches arranged by Paul Sturrock at Liskeard and took a fancy to a 6ft twenty year old French midfield player. Sheridan has invited him to Home Park for a trial period. Also there was Romain Larrieu who played in two of the three 40min matches....Sturrock who first gave him a chance when he first came over from France....reckons that he is still worth a contract somewhere.
Blimey plym what are you suggesting about Sheridan? I would have thought fancying a 6ft French footballer was more in Gat's fancy than his. Still, I'm liberated so whatever floats his boat.
Young 20yr old French trialist Jordan Gele turned out for the Young Plymouth team that beat Clevedon 1-0....played for 80mins.
Saturdays opponents Southend have only 16 players in their squad as of today (1st Aug)........but hopefully will have 20, their embargo limit by the weekend. One player they have got on a free is Connor Clifford !!!
Clifford how did we miss him, so teams picked, vicks rub coming out, tape up, kit up and let's get out there.. Do not see how we have got any stronger in first team or depth so for me Sheri is really going to show his coaching skills and tactical nonce if we are going to improve..

PS Blackman could be genius or Forest Gump singing.. for me best potential signing this closed season. Baz going has strengthed us IMHO great athlete bad footballer
Argyle have only Cole with any real experience on todays bench at Southend......all teenagers.....no experience to come on to change a match. Sheridan needs a couple of experienced loanees.
Trotman signed was surprised we had not brought in cover there beforehand but with Pickles struggling and now Wotts ribs we are very lightweight at centre-half. This squad really is paper thin.
Sheridan hadn't expected Wotton to be a regular this season.....so we really do need extra cover......he is supposed to be strong in the air.....but a bit of a cart-horse on the ground........but Sheridan has acquired him before,so knows what he is getting and he is only 26yrs old.
John Sheridan has sign trialist Hamza Bencherif on a short contract up to and including New Years day the Torquay home game. Hopefully Sheridan sees something in him that he can develop......at present his career has not set any fires alight.
Reckord in from Wolves. Young but has some decent experience. Hopefully not a broken Reckord.... Bencherif added to squad as well. Now all together concentrate and send Sheridan thi smessage..... Goal scorer, goal scorer, goal scorer, goal scorer......
Jamie Reckord a left back has come through the Wolves academy and has the same deal as Bencherif.....upto and including the Torquay game on New Years day.
Short term deal is ok at this point. Why commit long term to somebody when you can have a good look see. Mistake previously was to sign and then find out it was a flop. Never really heard of either of them and prefer to see in action rather than by reputation. Bale £85m, what a joke that is. You could keep all of leagues one and two alive for a year for that amount. The World of football has gone mad.
If somebody is daft enough to pay one individual that sort of money then best of luck to Bale on that score but it is madness and bloody obscene given the financial state of Europe and especially Spain where he has gone.
