With transfer movement etc, it would be nice to keep tabs on who has featured in competitive senior games, who is classed as "home-grown" etc. Hugo Lloris Michel Vorm Toby Alderweireld Jan Vertonghen Kieran Trippier (HG) Danny Rose (HG) Ben Davies (HG) Kyle Walker-Peters (HG) Victor Wanyama Eric Dier Moussa Sissoko Mousa Dembélé Harry Winks (HG) Dele Alli (HG) Christian Eriksen Son Heung-min Érik Lamela Georges-Kévin N'Koudou Vincent Janssen Harry Kane (HG) Serge Aurier Julian Foyth *** Paolo Gazzaniga Fernando Lloriente Davinson Sanchez *** *** Allegedly their age means they are too young to be counted as "overseas" players.
Also Foyth and Sanchez don't qualify as being young players for the Champions League so I think we have to leave one player out of our squad for that.
A 3 4 6 5 4 3, great idea, I think it would work and I doubt if there is a current prem referee bright enough to count up to 11.
Foyth's head is on someone else's body unless he has the Zika virus. Sonny must have spent the summer doing that Burmese neck stretching thing or his dad was part giraffe. Dele is a giraffe.
Both Janssen and Lamela left out of our CL squad. We had one fewer slots than I thought as Davies doesn't seem to count as locally trained presumably because Swansea are under the Welsh FA. So we've only got 4 locally trained players: Kane, Alli, Rose and Trippier and are therefore limited to 21 in total.
Davies is HG according to the Premier League: https://www.premierleague.com/players/4408/Ben-Davies/overview Also, here's something that's bloody annoying: every single article I've seen so far says who we've left out of our CL squad, but not a single one happens to say who is actually in it - and UEFA's been so helpful that they don't have anything listed on their site.
Davies counts as homegrown. I think that it might be to do with club trained players. http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2018/clubs/club=1652/index.html
UEFA really need to sort out their site, as I was going through the Spurs part of the site and saw a blank page (while various Twitter feeds linking to UEFA's site got an error page) For that matter, it really wouldn't take that long for various papers, sites and blogs to type out the squad list.
Yeah, I got the error page, too. It's quite shabby. The Mirror printed it out, to be fair to them: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tottenham-hotspur-name-champions-league-11109670
