We'll still be moaning about Loftus Road in ten years time, TF will be a distant bad dream by then...

We'd be in much better nick if we went about 40 years backwards.

    I disagree.

I'm looking forward to the future.

I think we need to judge Tony Fernandes over 10-15 years.

No better chairman since Jim Gregory.

Too easy to forget the positive stuff he's done for the club.

I'm genuinely struggling to remember what they are. He inherited a promoted team, sacked the manager and made some dismal appointments, spunking his and the club's money in the process. I don't doubt his heart is in the right place. I just don't think he's very good at his job.

Yeah Sku, I'm aging and the memory is going. Remind me please. Beyond 'a great day out at Wembley' which I ****ing missed.

He put his money into the club in good faith and supported every manager in financing their selection of players.

He's invested in the club infrastructure, and an update of the current premises - with the stated desire to move elsewhere when a viable opportunity arises.

He's financed the professional and legal services to take on those in authority who have sought to pull the club down - quietly defending the club against the FFP protagonists desperate to attack a weaker target than Europe's elite club (whose might would crush them).

Similarly in financing the expertise to explore the nightmare that is local planning consent, to develop a training academy as the nursery ground for future talent.

He's used his business acumen to invite others to invest and develop a broader global awareness of QPR.

I am sorry that you missed Wembley - a great day out - I can finally say that I've seen my team lift the trophy at a Wembley final. Never thought I'd say that. Unbelievable. From the very brink of elimination! <laugh>

Sorry mate, that is deeply unconvincing, none of those things have been delivered on, FFP is a problem of his own making. You should have stopped at 'he's thrown a lot of money at us'. His choice of managers has been a clear failure, no matter how well he supported them (he has of course also undermined them with other appointments - Ferdinand and return of Warnock).

He has helped raise our global profile, as an unliked laughing stock.

I'll be honest though, my feelings about him are particularly bitter because I was hugely excited by his arrival, attitude and promises, and gave him 100% backing until the arrival of Redknapp. Even after that I thought he would drive the infrastructure developments he was so big on. But with each passing month not a sod is turned at Warren Farm, no one talks about a stadium now, our youth set up is still crap and every set of published accounts shows more millions almost literally thrown away.

I suspect that, missing that unbelievable day at Wembley has seriously clouded your views mate.

Over the last few years, we have seen some great times at Rangers. Some are just too quick to moan.

Others will disagree but I don't give Fernandes or Redknapp credit for my nice day at Wembley. We were awful all season and didn't deserve to have the chance to fluke our way to the win at all despite the biggest budget in the league by millions.

Far from it. I had a lovely day but it had about as much to do with Fernandes being a good chairman as it did with Santa Claus. He has to take blame for **** managers- any other business owner would.

Let's just hope Hoos (who?) is the decision maker for this one. Good track record.

Just dropped the kids off and about to get on the road. Looking forward to today very much.

Great to have Neil Warnock back. Nice of him to reply to me too. He's getting through the backlog, though I suspect this will now go on the back burner.

Remember fondly back to his first stint. We used to laugh and smile almost every weekend.

Let's hope he elects a different captain. A crying shame Joey's not here to step in.

    Back to the OP....

It's all about perspectives; I guess. Here's another way of looking at it.

Name me one other chairman since Jim Gregory that's done more for QPR.

Are you on the happy pills today Col? Not seen you this positive at the Brain's Trust (I'll be back soon and sober.....perhaps).

It was a shame to miss that day, sadly unavoidable. I have also had a season ticket for 3 of the last 4 seasons and been to about 20 away games (far less than many I know). I get your point about moaning, but if there is a place for it, this is it, rather than booing at the stadium. I may be totally unfair about Fernandes, like everyone else on here I have no real knowledge of what has gone on behind the scenes. He has just become associated with a bad feeling about the club in my head. With the exceptions of Barton, Mackie and Mandy Traore I very rarely criticise individual players on here. Cut us a bit of slack mate.

That question can only be answered in retrospect, once his time has finished. It's like saying has the current season been successful or not. In the fullness of time let's compare him to say, Richard Thompson, Gregory is an unfair choice.
