Sorry to see him go, as thought he was a useful back up in central midfield, but it looks like Kenny J may give first team opportunities to youngsters Ben Close and Adam May.

Isted, who hails from Chichester, was previously on Pompey's books before moving to Southampton in 2010. He was part of the St Mary's side which hammered Andy Awford's Academy team 7-0 in the FA Youth Cup in December 2013. Isted later joined Stoke in 2015 and made his first-team debut in a 1-0 Checkatrade Trophy victory over Bradford in August. However, he was released from the Premier League side this summer.

please log in to view this image OLIVER HAWKINS has moved to the top of Kenny Jackett’s shopping list. The Pompey boss has made the Dagenham & Redbridge hitman his attacking priority as he continues reshaping his squad. But the Blues still face a battle to land the 25-year-old, with any deal a long way from being completed. Hawkins is regarded as one of the brightest talents outside of the Football League, after bagging 19 goals for the Daggers last season. The 6ft 5in striker has attracted interest from a host of clubs in recent months. Ipswich, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham have been among his suitors, with Brighton also previously running the rule over Hawkins. But Jackett remains hopeful of being able to lure the striker to Fratton Park, where his prospect of playing time would look brighter. The Londoner has operated largely in non-league football in his career to date with spells at the likes of Hemel Hempstead and Northwood. He failed to find the back of the net regularly in a struggling Daggers side in the 2015-16 season. Hawkins bagged just a single goal from 18 appearances, joining midway through a difficult campaign as his side were relegated from League Two. Jackett has kept tabs, though, on the man who made a big impression last term as his side finished fourth in the National League. The Pompey boss fancies being able to mould the striker into the kind of talent who could make a big impact at a higher level. Hawkins has a year remaining of the two-and-a-half-year agreement he signed for the his side as the start of 2016. Despite moving into the final 12 months of his deal, the Daggers are still confident of recouping a substantial fee for the striker in the wake of the amount of interest being shown in him. The Blues currently have four strikers on their books in the shape of Conor Chaplin, Curtis Main, Nicke Kabamba and Michael Smith. Kabamba and Main both got 45 minutes under their belts in the pre-season win over Salisbury on Saturday, with Chaplin and Smith sitting out the pre-season opener. The 21-year-old left-back featured in the Terriers' successful Championship play-off campaign in May and started seven league games last season. "It's a chance to show myself."
HITC Sport understands Portsmouth are eyeing the former Burnley and Leicester keeper Alex Cisak. please log in to view this image Former Burnley and Leicester City goalkeeper Alex Cisak is training with Portsmouth with a view to a potential move, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club. Cisak is a free agent after leaving Leyton Orient earlier this summer following their relegation from League Two at the end of last season. The 28-year-old, 6'3" keeper, has spent the last two seasons at Brisbane Road after initially impressing on loan. Cisak first arrived in England when he was spotted by Leicester playing in Australia, but he never made a first-team appearance for the club during his five years with the Foxes. A number of other League One, Major League Soccer and Australian sides are also weighing up a move Cisak as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer. Portsmouth are in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements with Alex Bass currently the only senior goalkeeper on the books at Fratton Park and they are in talks to sign Tottenham's Luke McGee in a permanent deal. He played one game on loan to us from Oldham Athletic back in 2012.
Pompey Sign Luke McGee from Spurs ! please log in to view this image Pompey have signed goalkeeper Luke McGee from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee (believed to be in the region of £85,000). The 21-year-old has penned a three-year deal at Fratton Park, having spent the majority of last season on loan at fellow League One side Peterborough. Assistant manager Joe Gallen said: “We’re very pleased to secure the signing of Luke. He’s come through Tottenham’s academy system and they’ve produced a lot of good players. “He went on loan to Peterborough last season and picked up the Players’ Player of the Season award. “And he’s also someone that Kenny knows about from his time at Tottenham. He was really impressed with him. “It’s great that we’ve been able to bring in a goalkeeper who’s good enough now and is going to improve in the future.” McGee made 45 appearances for Peterborough last season and appeared for Tottenham in front of 70,000 fans in a friendly against AC Milan in 2015. 6'3" in height, and a great prospect to my mind !
This is a positive signing. Very pleased - we need to give him time to bed in - he is fairly young. Be good to have Bass as back up - two young keepers challenging one another.
King Kenny's contacts paying dividends already........I am liking the calibre of player that is attracted to our club by having our new manager in situ
Hi bp - good to see you back on here after a two and a half year absence !! Where have you been? . Fully agree with your comments, hopefully an exciting season ahead for PFC.
Pompey turn focus to landing striker Brett Pitman on a free from Ipswich Town. please log in to view this image The Blues have made the Ipswich striker their attacking focus, as Kenny Jackett looks to strengthen his front line. Talks are progressing well, although Pompey are exercising caution over bringing in the 29-year-old with plenty of sides keen on securing his services. Pitman has been told he can leave Portman Road as Mick McCarthy shakes up his options this summer. The former Bournemouth man has a year left on his contract, but Ipswich would be prepared to let him leave without a fee. Pitman was adamant he wanted to remain in the Championship if he was to move on from the club he joined in 2015. But Pompey’s interest has made him reconsider that position, as Jackett looks to add some real weight to his attacking options. He was Ipswich’s top scorer in his first season (2015-16) with 11 strikes, after bagging 14 goals in the previous campaign for the Championship-winning Cherries. Pitman got just four goals last term in a lone striking role, however, as he side laboured to a 16th-placed finish in the second tier. Pompey had been looking to land Dagenham & Redbridge striker Ollie Hawkins from the National League. The Daggers haven’t been prepared to budge on their valuation, however, with a host of teams keen on the 29-year-old. Now the prospect of Pitman moving to Fratton Park has seen them switch their attention to the 6ft. striker.
crikey......didn't realise it had been that long, think its just over a year since I actively posted when I informed you all I was withdrawing from the prediction game due to work. Work has ben hectic to say the least, but I still managed to get to a handful of games at FP and a couple of away games too. Going by the way the season ticket sales have gone I don't think there will be many opportunities to go this year though....... Brett Pitman is an excellent signing.......Jackett has far more influence in being able to recruit big players than cookie did........could be a very interesting season ahead
I am sure PFC fans will be delighted to welcome Brett Pitman. For me I feel a bit disappointed as it will push Nicke Kabamba and Jamal Lowe further down the pecking order. However, let us hope Kabamba can outperform Pitman to leave this latest signing sitting on the bench.
I get the felling that KJ will give every player a chance - he's watched them all summer in training and knows hopefully the areas he felt we had a gap in. Pitman can hold a ball up well for either the pace of Lowe or Kabamba and the trickery of Chaplin. Up front is key and a good set of options is a very good thing.
So KJ managed to get promotion with Wolves and Millwall. Back to back promotion guys? I don't think it has been done from League 2(4) to the Championship (Div 2) for a long time. Maybe Northampton in the early 60s!! So it is there to be done and is achievable.
Apparently both Gary Roberts and Michael Smith have been told by Kenny Jackett that they are free to look for new clubs. Can't say I am surprised by this news.
