Adams has signed up former Rhyl manager Greg Stone (39) to be Chief Scout....he has played with Adams at Livingston & Motherwell and he has also played at Bolton and Wigan in his role as a defender, played for 16 clubs in a twenty year career and 6 years managing Rhyl.

He will scout from his home in the NW of England and report back from there.

Later reports have said that his name is Strong....not Stone.....a bit confusing for an old dodderer like me.

"he has played with Adams at Livingstone and Motherwell".......well really, and he's a chief scout as well so no surprise then.

Neither impressed or unimpressed with this. As you say there is nothing to base a judgement on so we will just have to wait and see.

There is quite a good video of him scoring a solo goal for the under 21's , from at least the half-way line.

Juries out for me at the minute. The Tube has always got soe spectacular video of them all. Mostly they are a one off never to be repeated. Like I said I will wait and see as with all the new boys.

Unproven obviously, but voted won Young Player of the Year type awards in successive years and given a 3 year contract by Premier League Palace so can't be all bad. We shall see.

I've read some of the write ups and yes they are more than reasonable but he hasn't been facing a 6ft 3ins overweight aging moster yet. It looks a decent signing but will still wait to see the proof.

Seem to remember he did well in the friendly -looks like a good addition- two proper wingers-don't let him take penalties though.

He might play on the wing more often than as a striker.

"Striker" "20 games never scored" sort of says a lot doesn't it. As with all though will wait and see.

Talk seems to be that he played against Argyle in the Reading game recently but not as a striker more a winger. Apparently gave Sawyer a bit of a torrid time. This is the same with any player, loanee or not, until they have been given a go in the first team in a proper game none of us know how they are going to turn out for us do they. We've had some right cabbages and some right diamonds previously so it's only fair to judge all of them once we have seen them in anger. Not long now.......

We had more cabbages than diamonds.... we do nee our own players as once the diamonds are here then they get called back and it ruins us... i know we all need them in the lower leagues.. but it can be a pain when they go half way through a good spell.. 2 more days to go... for our first 3 points..

Oh the tension...........I actually do fancy us genuinely for a good start to the season. That's probably the kiss of death then.

We are always going to have loanees in every league and you are right, if they do particularly well then we miss them twice as much. Last season was a pain when it came to the loans and it did us no favours. If we had been able to keep the team together I think we might have managed automatic instead of scraping into the playoffs and choaking. But we are stuck with it so have to make the best. Good job we have a pen taker already isn't it.

very excited about this season's team now-fast flowing football and goals galore; need to win the Ashes first- football should be banned until the end of August.
