The Black Cats – who have agreed to sell Connor Wickham to Crystal Palace for £9m– have opened talks on Pato, 25. The former AC Milan star is on loan to Sao Paulo from Corinthians, where he has rediscovered his form. Pato scored 51 goals for Milan in 117 Serie A games, but his spell at the San Siro was interrupted by a string of injuries. With the futures of Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham uncertain, Sunderland bossDick Advocaat has also been linked with Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes. North-East rivals Middlesbrough have already had a £12m bid rejected for the Scotland striker, 25. Time for the Striker rumors to circulate> I'd be very happy with this, hope it has legs. Would be great business, carrying plenty of money over till January in case we have a chance to push on.
This would be awesome but it just seems too good to be true (makes me think it's bullshit paper talk), we don't sign quality like this we sign Danny Graham and Steven Fletcher.
The Mirror are reporting both that we're signing him and not signing him at the same time ****ing Jobsworths. Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat plots £15million bid for Fenerbahce striker Moussa Sow 22:30, 1 AUGUST 2015 BY ALAN OLIVER The Dutchman is also eyeing France midfielder Yann M'Vila, who is back at Rubin Kazan following a loan spell at Inter Milan Alex Grimm please log in to view this image Target: Advocaat is plotting a shock £15m swoop for Moussa Sow Dick Advocaat is preparing a mammoth £15million offer for Fenerbahce frontman Moussa Sow. The Black Cats boss is returning for the forward after seeing a £12m bid rejected as he looks to fill the gap left by Connor Wickham’s move to Crystal Palace. The Sunderland manager knows the Wearsiders are short of goals and he will return to the Istanbul club with an improved bid. That means a swoop for former AC Milan hitman Alexandre Pato is now dead in the water. But they have now shelved those plans as Advocaat plans to make Sow his main man. If the Dutchman gets no encouragement from the Turkish club he will return to Holland for PSV Eindhoven striker Jurgen Locadia. The 21-year-old forward is showing plenty of promise having broken into the Dutch Under-21 side last term. The France midfielder, who has 22 caps, has not played since ending a loan spell atInter Milan in January, and is available on a free transfer. M’Vila is owned by Russian club Rubin Kazan but has been training with Dynamo Moscow.
Agree, it,s getting surreal, we normally don't sign players like the ones mentioned. Next great difficulty will be gelling any signings into a consistent team, there,s a preferred line-up thread as well but am at a loss for all but a few positions
He must be better than that Scocco we had. What a **** up that was. South Americans. Apart from Arca which others have been decent? About time luck changed. Maybe this could be the one
I'd love this to come off but just playing devils advocate here. £5m for a striker with an almost 1 in 2 ratio in the Serie A? maybe his injuries are more trouble than he's worth? could he be another Alvarez?
Ok fair enough, I wasn't constructive, my apologies. Style of player, style the club are looking to play, attributes of player, attributes the club are looking to bring in, home grown quota, scouting network, players interest, wages, signing on fee, bonus demands, league adaptability, Height, Build, Age, Family needs, influence of manager, payment structure, profile of club. All could be a factor in why a player doesn't want to join a certain club or a club doesn't pursue a certain player.
Whilst Pato is a superb player Hasn't his career, even though still rather young been hampered by injuries? I mean like on the scale of Wes Brown and Ricky Alvarez amounts? Personally have a sneaky suspicion we will go for Berahino with the Wickham money...
He's had very little problems since 2012 according to his Injury record. just a single two week injury where he missed one game. I think I'd prefer Beahino but I think West Brom will take the piss. I've now against us stumping up a lot of cash but not if we're over paying.
Its news like this, that would make this deal a little sweeter! Personally think you could just buy Berahino with the Wickham money
Mate he scored 14 league goals last season and still has two years to run. There's no way we'd get him with just the Wickham money imo. WBA apparently want 25m
