David Moyes, who was appointed manager of Sunderland in 2016, is in heavy talks to sign highly rated striker, Ryad Boudebouz. According to the Sun.

Fighting for relegation, Sunderland are currently joint bottom with fellow strugglers, Swansea City. Moyes needs to bring more players into the squad in order to increase his chances of staying up. Is the 26 year-old the answer to his problems ?

The 26 year-old attacking midfielder has scored seven goals in 16 just appearances so far this season. However, he sustained a knee injury in early December which set him back until the end of January.

Its clear that manager Moyes needs reinforcements to help his struggling squad, but the Sunderland coach reportedly has very little cash to spend during this month's transfer window.

After scoring two goals and 11 assists last season, and continuing his form this season, the Algerian International is fast becoming one of the top attacking talents in Ligue 1.

Boudebouz is undoubtedly a quality attacking midfielder with a great skill set, but his £8.5m price tag makes him a risk for the Black Cats hierarchy

Premier League strugglers Sunderland are planning to make a swoop for Montpellier attacker Ryad Boudebouz, according to reports

Sunderland have struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis so far this season and it is widely believed that Black Cats boss David Moyes will be bringing in a couple of attacking players to the Stadium of Light before the end of the current January transfer window.

Recently, reports have claimed that Sunderland are currently weighing up a move for Montpellier star Boudebouz and the Wearside outfit are ready to pay £8.5million to sign the playmaker who has scored seven goals in 16 appearances this season.

The Black Cats have consistently gone to Ligue 1 to bolster their squad in recent transfer windows, bringing the likes of Wahbi Khazri, Lamine Kone and Didier Ndong across the English Channel to Wearside. Boudebouz could next be in line to make the same journey amid speculation Sunderland are willing to offer £9million for the Algeria international. The 26-year-old has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years having impressed with Montpellier and his performances this season have once more earned him admiring glances. Boudebouz, who has scored seven times in 16 appearances this season, would be Sunderland boss David Moyes' big-money buy this month if he firms up his interest, the Scot having been given limited funds to improve his squad.
