Last time out Sunderland lost 1-0 away to Middlesbrough and Bournemouth beat Middlesbrough 4-0 at home.
Lee Cattermole, Darron Gibson, Jack Rodwell and Jason Denayer are all nursing injuries and will be assessed, while Sebastian Larsson must complete a three-match ban.
Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling will miss the game because of a calf problem sustained in last weekend's 4-0 win over Middlesbrough.
Cherries manager Eddie Howe otherwise has no fresh injury concerns.

    David Moyes:
"If we can win tomorrow it will give us an opportunity to go again. But I've said that week in week out and we haven't won."
"Supporters are entitled to vent their frustrations. Frustrations have been here for 4-5 years, the manager takes the brunt of that."
"All I want is the supporters to get behind the players to give them every chance of winning the game."
"I'm here and my focus is winning the next game. Our focus is making sure we're prepared."
"While we still have a chance we will keep fighting. We want a winning momentum and we want to rediscover that winning feeling."

    Eddie Howe:
"Any away game in the Premier League is difficult. While there's hope for Sunderland they'll keep going, it will be tough."
"My focus is always on my team, our focus and what we can do. I'm proud of how the players have adapted to the Premier League."
"We've been slightly more inconsistent than we'd have liked, but I see progression in the team and we're going the right way."
"We'd love to get to the 40-point mark this weekend. We have to maintain our momentum."

    Head-to-head
    • Bournemouth's only victory in all nine previous meetings came at home in their first Premier League fixture against Sunderland, in September 2015.
    • Three of the four previous encounters on Wearside in all competitions ended 1-1, with Sunderland 3-2 victors in the old Division Two in 1989.
    • Sunderland won away at Bournemouth in November so could do the double over another club for the first time in two years.
    Lawro's Prediction: 1:1
    Merson's Prediction: 0:2

    Odds H 2-1 A 11-8 D 5-2

    My two pence...
It's the last chance saloon now - win or bust.
I'd like to think that the players will start putting in the effort for Moyes but all I can see is a 2-1 win to Bournemouth.

If they get a goal early doors we could be looking at 3 or 4. They're good going forward but poor at the back.

Play 442 and stick big Vic through the middle with Defoe and go for it.

What have we got to lose?

walking along the shore this morning i found a bottle with a note in it which predicted safc would stay up this season and moyes would be hailed a hero ,thats the last time i do that after drinking the contents a few hours earlier.
    all together ,

    "Octopus's Garden"

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden in the shade

I'd ask my friends to come and see
    An octopus's garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus's garden near a cave

We would sing and dance around
Because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
    (Lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
    (Happy and they're safe)

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea

plus there are several thousand leagues down there to get relegated from

Gibson doubtful, best news I've heard all season. Probably the league match I've cared the least about since I started supporting Sunderland.

Rodwell and Gibson both doubtful with groin injuries, what have they been up to eh. Staying behind together after training maybe.

    A good U18 prospect - tricky winger / midfielder.

With England recognition at both under-17 and under-18 level, Elliot is a talented youngster who operates in the middle of the park.
Elliot proved last term he can play in a host of different roles in midfield such as sitting in front of the back four as well as in a more advanced number 10 role.
Technically very good, Elliot has previously displayed good ball skills and showed off his ability to convert free-kicks as well as a number of fine strikes from outside the area.

    Good to see Love back.

I hope he has a really good season for you lot in the C'ship, he could be the next Michael Keane in that respect.

I think he will be decent but I expect McNair to develop into the better of the two.

I hope we hold onto them both, plus watmore pickford Gooch N'dong. Decent crop of youngsters there who I think will benefit from a season in the championship. May even be good enough to win promotion if we bring the right senior players to support them.

So do we keep Catts? We need an experienced leder and a tw*t in the championship. Or is he one of the rotten core?
Do we keep O'shea for his experience in that league and offer him a player/coach deal. Or do we get rid of as well>

    Decisions decisions.

I wouldn't keep O'Shea on as a coach I don't think he's earned the right to be teaching others what to do when he still makes basic errors quite often. Don't get me wrong I could think of worse CBs but I would prefer him to leave.

I'd keep Catts if he is no longer injury prone after his recent operation.
