Interesting on the methane powered stuff, I'll look into it, but I still don't think it's necessary or humane to do so. There are other forms of energy that should be invested in also.

A better future will probably include many different forms of energy.

IIRC the ebola virus was traced back to humans eating bats who carry the virus in western Africa. Certainly not from genetically modified foods.

Simple fact with this fake meat is that if it's actually a goer and if it's cheaper to produce it's what we'll be eating in the future because corporations will control what is on our supermarket shelves. There will be farmed stuff still but it will be very expensive.

Absolutely it is okay to do so. When my previous dog, Gnasher, was seriously ill we took him to the vets to cease his suffering. That was humane and done for his benefit and not ours.

This is exactly what I am dead against. I said quite distinctly a local small scale butcher and not anything like this in the US where their meat production system is ****ed beyond belief. I believe that I made that clear in my previous post.

I also made it clear that that I wasn't talking about factory farming which seemed to have crept back in a response to me (not by your self I hasten to add) as if I were in favour of it.

Real meat is meat that has been reared properly, husbanded properly and slaughtered painlessly and without stress. You don't get that with 95% of your meat and which is why I chose to eat from selected butchers and not from the main street supermarkets who get their meat from all over the world.

Real meat is certainly not grown in vat and filled full of chemicals supplied by Monsanto.

This argument about Super Meat should be knocked on the head and whilst we're at it so should the factory farms. I've never spoken in favour of them but I am very much in favour of proper small scale butchering done properly.

You go there and ask for steak without added antibiotics or hormones and then see what you get.

They don't know what is good food even if bit them on their (overlarge) arses.

I'm not referring to when they're in pain and need to be put down. That's an act of compassion.

I'm talking about if there's no good reason to do so and I just kill my dog because it annoys me. Is that ok for me to kill it then? That's the point I was making.

Tash, that is equally invalid. I don't kill cows or sheep when they annoy me.
