Still getting the predictable drivel on ITTV, apparantly it is the fault of CARD we have attracted an offer like this!

You can now see how deluded are those who trumpeted "Roland's putting in £1m a month, Roland saved us, Roland's keeping us afloat" etc etc. It's the huge debt to Roland which is now such a problem, a debt incurred by his mismanagement, or rather his employing inexperienced fools to run the club.

Business wise, Duchatelet has played a blinder. Debt not equity & leaving it to future owners to do the hard work which gets him his money back.

I'll wait and see how this pans out (we're not actually really in the know about this as yet) but it sounds like he's going to shaft who ever he needs to and off load debt onto those foolish enough to take it on. Debt he personally achieved through incompetence let us remember.

Until I hear anything substantive I'm going to assume nothing is actually happening.

Too many things about this Aussie takeover don't make sense. Actually believe the club for once.

    And now to shower.

I don't want the Belgians to stay but this Aussie Takeover makes me very uneasy. The Club is still making we are not selling noises. I will await developments.

Had a good old chinwag last night with someone in town. Highlighted the fact a story like this will usually have multiple sources, but there appears to only be one in this case.

Take that for what it's worth.

They have quoted the model Bates and Teak investments used at Leeds. The feeling is Teak is Bates and he is still pocketing £2mill a year in rent from Elland Road and our training facility at Thorpe Arch. Bates went one stage further by selling all catering rights in the ground.

Cellino bought back the catering last year but we still dont own our ground. We can buy it back for a reduced fee, but in a few years time it reverts back to full market value! Most Leeds fans hope we move ground and training facilities just to spite the corrupt cnut Bates. We rent the place but are responsible for all upkeep costs! How does that work?

This selling of the ground meant we have had a succesion of crap owners. serious owners want all the assets and not just the loss making football side. The ground if marketed is the goldmine.

Still think this takeover of yours is a ruse to get real buyers to make an offer and start a bidding war. Good luck anyway.

The one source would have to be either Roland or the Aussies. Part of the leaked story was that they were trying to get the money together, which makes it unlikely that the Aussies were responsible. Rick was aware of the story before it was published, which means the club have used him quite cleverly. One or two reputations will take a pounding if, as expected, nothing happens.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Rick Everitt's one and only source is Peter Varney. He was fired by the club for Gross Misconduct 7-8 years ago now. Who is left at the club that he knows?

It doesn't necessarily mean they don't have the capital but as the deal is represented - it's high risk. Sounds like the angle is they are "hedging their bet" to remove said risk.

But again, I still can't see much logic to this whole thing.

The Australian consortium are a Lidls version of Duchatelet. The same "feeder club - we will send you players- PL is the aim" mythology which landed us where we are now.

Only under the Aussies it would be worse - they are unlikely to have the £1m a month to sink into the club, AND we wouldn't own the Valley any longer.
