    They are wanting Pensioners "benefits" cut now for the following reasons;

    "Mr Wild, who is research director of the think tank which campaigns for lower taxes and highlights examples of Government waste, said the cuts should be made "as soon as possible after an election for two reasons".

    "The first of which will sound a little bit morbid - some of the people... won't be around to vote against you in the next election. So that's just a practical point, and the other point is they might have forgotten by then."

    He added: "If you did it now, chances are that in 2020 someone who has had their winter fuel cut might be thinking, 'Oh I can't remember, was it this government or was it the last one? I'm not quite sure.' "

    He forgot to add that a few of them who had the winter fuel cut may die of hyperthermia so they would definately forget plus that added bonus of not having to pay their pensions so its a win win situation no doubt

    Unfortunately Labour, Corbyn and the rest of the Loonies on the left of politics are not able to mount a viable opposition that normal people would vote for.

    Bart.

    PS - I am no Tory !!!!

    If you are to receive a final salary works pension.
    After April 2016 your o.a.p.will be reduced.
    That means all public sector workers will receive a reduced o.a.p. <bubbly>

    Further to my quote.
    If you worked and paid super anuation in and froM the early seventies till now it will apply to you.
    You need to remmember people took out these super anuation because they were on a low wage and when they retired it would boost there o.a.p.
    Because THEY NEVER WORKED IN HIGHLY PAID INDUSTRY OR EARNED ANY BIG MONEY.NOW THEY ARE GOING TO BE PENALISED. <bubbly>

    It's only right that public sector workers should receive a lower state pension because people like me who have worked all our lives have paid into their pension scheme for them via our taxes.

    Well said Vince. My RAF salary was suitably abated (officialese) when I went onto a pensionable engagement. Working it out as best as I could I am just about to break even on contribution/pension balance after 28 years of pension that was suitably taxed until I left UK.
