Niasse - sit back and ensure we don't concede early on, hit them on the counter when we get opportunities, then bring Hernandez on to try and win it for us in the second half.
Well I don't drive but I think some away fans park at Southampton Airport Parkway then get the train into central. Depends on fitness etc. I suppose though. Train takes about 10 minutes to get into central and then around a 15-20 minute walk from the ground, depending on walking pace. Then when you get back to your car your pretty much already on the M3... Like I say, not anything I've ever used before... but seen that it can be quite popular with away fans on other forums etc.
Not lived there for a while but West Quay is a big car park or down by the cinema. You could possibly Park Woolston way if you can be arsed to walk across the Itchen bridge to St marys. I'm sure omega man has a better idea though.
Thanks Roary and TLL... Ive been checking maps and how about Ocean Village Multi Storey, seems easy to get back out on the 33 from there./?
Yeah Ocean Village is pretty close to the ground and one straight road really out of the city... could take a while though
My expectation was for the ban to be unsuccessful. As it is, I'd choose Niasse ahead of MBob without question.
Anyone else driving down Saturday...?... just spoken to a pal who lives near Winchester and they've said, best suggestion, leave car at Winchester... 15 min train into Southampton Central then walk to the ground. £7 off peak return and cheaper parking than near the ground. Straight back out onto M3...!!
Personally I would start with both, I am confident this can be our away game with Marco, I'm feeling very positive about this one. I think Hernandez needs to start, he helped changed the game when he came on. I'm surprised that quite literally no one has mentioned his ball out of defence to set Robbo on the way for the first goal, as well as the rest of his play. But I am a Hernandez fan.
Dunno if someone like TOM can comment but the M3 from the M25 down past Farnborough is 50mph while they make it smart. The ****ing road is shut at 8pm too.
Yes, park the bus in front of City's goal. I'm going Friday but have never been to the ground before, normally look for somewhere to park about a mile away and walk in.
I use two routes too and from Hull. Over the bridge M18 to A15 A46 to M1 Junct 15a Northampton A43 to M40 M40 to A34 A34 to M3 4 hours 10 mins M62 to M18 M18 to M1 M1 to Junct 15a then same as above. 4 hours 5 mins I have done every route possible and these are the two most consistent. All leaving time dependent. The A46 route is about 25 miles shorter. Parking in Southampton is never good on match days. But there are only two cruise ships in on Saturday so that's not bad news. Its about the same walking distance to St Mary's from the train station as it is from the KC to Paragon. Parking in Winchester as expensive as Southampton and is fairly limited. I would use the airport for out of town parking, but by the time you walk to the station, catch a train, get on the motorway, you will have gained only a couple of minutes if that. Personally, I would park in West Quay, have something to eat and then leave, the food choice around there is staggeringly good. I will be in the Platform Tavern pre match. It brews its own beer and has good food. My Saints supporting family all park in College Street car park.
Elabdellaoui's still not available, his back injury hasn't healed, but everyone else (other than the long-term injuries) is available.
As requested: After the game, I will be eating in my favourite restaurant, The Corriander Lounge. I will have onion bargee and tandoori chicken starter followed by Pashmiri Lamb and Mushroom rice with a garlic naan on the side, two possibly three pints of Cobra lager, at 1823 hours I will have a piss.
That's more like it! Nice to see you've still left flexibility in the Cobra volume...good resilient planning if you ask me
