Best recent holiday for us was a 6 week stay in Italy. A week in each of Rome, Florence, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Venice and Verona. Popped into Austria(Innsbruck) for a day from Verona by rail. Always wanted to see the Brenner Pass. Joined our Aussie friends who were on a 3 month stay there. They provided free accomodation and did all the necessary driving.
Has anyone visited The Giant's Causeway in NI? Is it worth a visit, photo opportunities? Anything else close by worth a look at?
Its Mrs A's 50th this year. A niece is also getting married in Vegas, so we're starting in San Francisco then driving to Vegas via Yosemite. Then flying to New York. Two daughters are joining us for the Vegas bit so cant wait! Its only two months away now, and planned it to death!
Got a mate who lives in Italy, in a place called Alberobello. ****ing smashing place too. That region (Puglia) is totally not that touristy. Local food is amazing. Wine cheap and awesome. Stuff to see inland and also easy to get to some great beaches. Depends what you want from a holiday I guess.
This is a beautiful beach - unspoilt and bags of room on it. Bamburgh in Northumberland, it's a secret, don't tell any ****er.
I've used these travel agents for Caribbean holidays if this is any help (not Maldives but some interesting islands like St Vincent & Grenadine) Relatively good prices as they seem to sell you a Kuoni holiday but for cheaper (when I used them it was all Kuoni even down to the luggage tags) http://caribbeanwarehouse.co.uk/
Try Lido di Venezia. Or Caorle further along the coast towards Trieste. Like many of the well kept secrets in Italy, they don't need to publicise themselves too much.
