i was 16.. and i was crying my eyes out before the final whistle came.. i was literally crying me eyes out before the final whistle blew i'd seen city from the 3rd division to this our first championship season, i had a broken ankle, yet i still went to the game, i got put in the disabled bit of coventry, i had my crutches, i took the lift up to the stand in the championship.. john welsh.. i miss those days my mate at school, rob. got me into city in 2002.. atand i never looked back, suddenly my local team went from div 3 to div 1. i remember being in that arena for the screenback for the yeovil game i remember being in coopers gcse history class. now he's captain of leeds and i shagged the mate of our history teacher i rememeber seeing myself on tv when we played kidiminster away lee marshall got a horrible injury that game god life was so simple and fun in those days
That goal, the pass, the finish, utter perfection. For all the ****e and heartache that is now going on with our club, at least we can say we witnessed it.
Just wondered as most people's greatest day is seeing their kids born. The fact they often turn out to self centred, inconsiderate little prats is another thing altogether. If you were that excited imagine how those of us who had been going for over 50 years and imagined we would never see our team play at Wembley (when we got there there only 7 of the 92 league clubs who had never played at Wembley) or in the top flight felt?
Err...got to say the most interesting part of the story is that you shagged your history teacher's mate. My history teachers tended to be old blokes with beards and corduroy jackets...and I think their mates were similar...
Good memories mate but if you only started going in 2002 you have seen the very best of Hull City. You are a lucky bloke. Because believe me before that there wasn't much to remember. Chelsea 66, Promotion from Div 3 65/66, the first three months of Terry Neill, Stoke FA Cup Rd 6, 71, Battle of Bramall Lane 71, bit of a revival under Don Robinson and Brian Horton................
i fully appreciate that i have got all the good times just a massive load of luck really nothing beats going to the football on a saturday @ 3pm
I started going in 93 as a 6 year old. Loved every minute. Ish. Modern City is good, but the magic has faded as the Allams have become more ****ish. I'd do you a line graph, but I'm sure you can picture it.
