Anyone else out there following the final stages? Could be an exciting climax tomorrow between Middlesex and Yorkshire as both sides need to go for a win, with Somerset picking up the spoils if it's a draw. A good write-up here: http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2016/content/story/1058334.html Let's hope the weather doesn't take a hand.
Actually the first time I can ever remember all four matches in the final round having a bearing on the title or relegation. It's going to be very difficult for Middlesex, they just have too much to do to set a realistic target and the onus will be on Yorkshire to bowl them out and have enough time to win. Somerset now look slight favourites for their first ever title. The remaining two matches are just as close in the relegation battle with Lancashire looking likely to lose and hoping Hants fail against Durham. Should be squeaky bum time in all three remaining games...
This is getting farcical. Simpson just managed to get himself bowled when they are trying to give him runs.
It's a QPR forum but we chat about anything within reason. Anything with a green off topic prefix indicates that the topic isn't a football/QPR related subject. If you like your plate full of football you can avoid the 'green' threads.
Yorkshire were 4/9 favourites after 10 overs, they've now moved out to 3/1 with Somerset favourites at 6/5. Middx are 13/10. http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/county-championship-div-1
Yes, it's getting interesting. Yorkshire are struggling - 4 down and the rate required up at 8 an over. Middlesex need to get Bresnan out.
Sorry Strolls, meant to post something yesterday but have been bogged down with work..... Getting interesting at Lords, could still go either way......
All of a sudden Middlesex look favourites.....6 down, 8 overs left 80 runs for Yorkshire or 4 wickets for Middlesex.....think the draw is the least likely result....
