He's not coming out! I guess he would have had a go if they had got close to the total - good win regardless!
Great win, given all our injury issues (and no Vince). Batting is still a big concern, so hopefully Friday night can allow the likes of Carberry and Adams to get a bit of confidence and form back.
I always wondered why Ervine hasn't had more of a look in when it comes to captaining us in the past. Maybe today has answered me. Giving Best four overs, but not McLaren or Andrews was very, very strange. And wrong. (Can't say that Tino's figures surprise me though. He screams expensive at me. The moment Berg is fit enough to bowl - he is fit enough to bat now - he comes straight into this t20 team ahead of Best in my view). But at least we kept them under 200. They were on course for 220 until Malan got out.
I wonder where Afridi's going to bat? It could quite literally be anywhere from 6 upwards depending on the match state. *Apart from opening obviously.
Chalky said when we signed him that he's been signed to strengthen our middle order. But that was before Vince got taken away. As you say, the match state could well have the final say.
I said this is our worst t20 side for years. It wasn't great last season (we had to win both our last two group games to squeeze through), and that side had Vince, Shah, Wood and Briggs. Finishing in the top four this season will be our greatest group stage qualification yet, if we do it.
