    As it happens, he has been given a vote of confidence by the board - and another two games, so I'm told.

    Still, one of those games is Wycombe so I can't see that going too well for him.

    Quite a bit, no doubt. But he has improved Sheff Wed and he has sold them to a consortium which intends to get them back into the PL. That's better ambition than what they were playing about with before Mandaric went there.

    Serious question though. What are they going to do if they get promoted..? We have a Cherries fan in our Ramblers group. He was telling me about a [quick] stadium expansion plan that will raise the capacity of the Goldsands to 20,000 odd. Trouble was, I was walking through sloshy New Forest mud, with added pony cack, over my ankles at the time, in textile boots, so I wasn't paying 100% attention. Not even 50% really as I was waiting for that tell-tale cold seepage, which actually never happened - good boots. Anyway, he said that something was being planned.

    I was half watching the game while I was working out in one of those places with three letters in the word... They did well again. Pleased for the cherries and hope to see them come up.

    It was a pub. I got a pass to do something I rarely do these days / drink in a pub.
