Debate on Radio 5 Live at 13.00 [about 5 mins at the time of writing] about the state of English football. Usual members of The Monday Night Club involved, plus Trevor Brooking. Should be good listening. Will be available on the iPlayer Radio shortly afterwards: http://www.bbc.co.uk/5live
Looking at Zenga's coaching history... Hmm. Getting the sack having taken a team to the bottom of the UAE League. Sounds great....
Oh no Fran. I'll vote yes. Having them "know" theyll do it but then fail, is so much more fun. I'm happy to encourage them along.
Messi's hair though.... Tello on the subs bench for Barca against Celtic so will probably get a run-out if anyone wants to see him.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...-spanish-giants-push-for-new-champions-leagu/ Article from Jeremy Wilson on the push from Italian and Spanish clubs to amend or restructure the champions league
I'll write in with my brilliant, ground breaking idea: they have a champions league only for the champions of each country
I remember fergie moaning about this in 98 then they won it the next season as runners up in the league.
I'm not sure about this - I think you'd get far fewer 'top' sides and a lot more 'average' sides. E.g. only one of Read Mardrid / Atletico Madrid / Barcelona would be involved......but PFC Ludogorets Razgrad would be in
I've got a pretty good idea to make the various big Spanish, Italian, German, etc... leagues be more attractive to overseas armchair viewers. And it's aimed largely at the biggest clubs in Europe. DON'T BE SO GOOD. Your leagues are not competitive enough.
Call your one something other than "Champions" League then I'll also throw in making mine a straight knock out.
