    I should say that near the end of TMNC this evening, Danny Mills pretty much nailed it as far as the philosophy at Southampton FC. He's obviously been seriously listening to the talk that comes out of SFC. He said about half a dozen sentences about Les Reed and Saints long term strategy and got closer than anybody else has to what makes the club successful. At least one pundit does his research.

    He did well before us and got us a double promotion, but only way seems to be down now. I thought he would be fine after us, but not happened....I suppose Nigel and Saints were a perfect storm.

    I'm from Sheffield. He's utterly hated there. A large part of it is the deal he struck with Deano. After Adkins had been sacked, United found they were contractually obliged to sign Deano (and in my brother's words, his legs had completely gone). Despite the fact that there'd obviously been no-one taking notice at the club, it left a very bitter taste. ( http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/sh...g-the-contract-of-one-of-its-highest-earners/ )


    After he went to Reading someone (on I think the Echo site) said he'd bumped into NA and had a decent chat where NA revealed that he didn't realise just how good the Southampton setup was until he left. I suspect we flattered him somewhat.

    Indeed. it'll get into general news, I wouldn't mind betting. Great Brazilian RB, even if he did rifle one in against Italy to make it 4-1.
