Good morning from a cloudy Jersey. One of my colleagues was telling me yesterday that he thinks we are candidates for relegation - partly on the basis of the amount clubs like Burnley and Bournemouth have spent compared to us. I hope that someone showed Silva footage of when Cleverley was at the Vic first time to show what his role should be, not the one Mazzarri used him in.
Morning all, a bright and sunny start to this Friday morning, which is also France's national day. I was reminded of how a Friday was always the day that took far longer to do my paper round as it was the day that the Watford Observer was published, and the chance to see what news there was of the club. No 24 hour rolling news, facebook, twitter, etc in those days, just a weekly newspaper that was very heavy with the section on available jobs, and another on houses for sale. Much later GT would keep news back from the national press so that the Observer could be first with the news.
Good little read here, with Watford content. http://thesetpieces.com/features/celebrating-uninspiring-journeyman-signing/
Internet went AWOL this morning. Seems as if there was a network problem that chopped the service over a large area. Still it was restored after an hour or two, and all seems fine now. Far more difficult when it only goes down for a small number, and requires a technician to get on his bike and disappear to a box in the countryside.
Beautiful day here and off for a picnic with Trotsky and Lenin. Our friends who gather monthly have been invited to a large garden and smallholding for a picnic rather than the usual restaurant meal. Oh and Trotsky and Lenin are two donkeys.
Just back from France via Paris..... saw the Trump juggernaut twice... once by Notre Dame and secondly in a 10 helicopter cavalcade
Morning all from an already warm rural France. Eric our neighbours son is here for what should be his holiday, but all the DIY jobs are stored up for him, so this morning he is out with a tub of varnish to coat the garden seats. He lives in Paris where he maintains a sports ground, and despite the physical nature of his job never seems to reduce in weight or size. What is known in the UK as a "beer belly" is referred to here as a man's "brioche".
Well watched the friendly against Viktoria Plzen. Was a bit disappointed that we looked much the same. Gave away possession too easily, tried long balls down the wings, and didn't show great skill very often. OK Okaka got the goal but nothing spectacular. To be fair the Czech opposition had a few players and have done well in recent years being champions. And of course it was a friendly and very early days. Hope someone else watched it and had a better opinion than me. Rather sad that there was no match thread
