This afternoon I had an e-mail from a neighbour asking if I was on-line as he was in difficulties. Not sure what it was about I said I was on-line and could I help. A few minutes later I wondered if he had had a fall or something similar so knowing he is on his own went round to see if I could help. His computer address book had been hacked and was sending out the following to everyone in it. "Thank you for your answer, I have some problems now being on the road, I was the victim of a serious assault, they took everything (phone, money, etc.), I wonder if you can me make a loan of € 1500. I'll pay you back in four days." Clearly a scam, but he no longer could access his address book. Although he changed his e-mail address he didn't have all the addresses to warn of what was happening. The Internet should be a tool for good, but there are always those who wish to use it as a means of stealing from others.
Didn't even think to look if there was a stream for it. Is there one for Saturday's match against Eibar? I chose today of all days to have a delivery of granite chip & spent the afternoon carting and spreading the stuff in our courtyard, on the hottest day of the year here - 29C. No stock of beer in the house either...
Morning all. Sunshine and showers predicted by one forecasting service, no rain whatsoever by another one, and my internet provider sending texts to tell me to unplug everything when the storms arrive. As usual we will get what we get, but I would like 48 hours of steady rain.
Good morning all from a warm and dry, for now, Weston-super-Mare! Plenty of rain forecast over the next few days! Have a good day!
Hello all, I am still about have no fear Hope you are enjoying your summer wherever you are or get to. Scully
Morning all, bright and sunny in rural France, and still no sign of much needed rain. Tomorrow is our hamlets annual feast, so this afternoon I will be collecting tables, chairs, freezer etc from the village hall and moving them to the barn where the festivities take place. It is a multi-national event with French and English both used as only one couple can speak Dutch. I find that by the end of the day I am not quite sure which language I am using, and my brain seems to go into some form of meltdown. Mme would probably say that it is quite normal for my brain to be in that state.
Morning wet wet wet here .. Supposed to be out on a wildlife photography course today.. Not sure if it will be any fun at all
Morning all, still no rain here and a huge area of the country is operating under official drought legislation. It is quite normal as you go around the countryside to see farmers irrigating their fields, but I haven't seen any jets of water for some weeks now. Light rain is forecast for later today, but it was yesterday and never arrived. If only we could control the weather.
After a deluge, thunder and lightning on Wednesday night we had more rain last night and two heavy showers this morning, the second of them while I was umbrella-less and trying to load shopping into the car boot. Coffee, newspaper, shortbread and a towel now!
Morning all, rather suffering this morning from too much over rich food at our village feast. Despite trying to contain myself to small portions I fell into the trap of wanting to try many of the delicious offerings, so probably had far more than I would normally eat. Jugs were filled and re-filled with rosé and red wine, yet at the end of the day despite the best efforts of the assembled company there was some left over. I think I will have a minimal eating and drinking day to recover.
