on a positive note.. stewart missed first three games.. will be interesting to see what he's like in a proper game
Even grimmer when you consider that half of those injuries are not only long term but the type from which players either never come back from or return a shadow of their former selves.
McGregor Marshall - inj Dave - inj Hyena Dawson Hector Mazuch Void Mason - inj Clucas Stewart - inj Meyler Hendrickson - inj Evandro - inj Grosicki Larsson Hernandez - inj Campbell Keane - inj Diomande Discounting youth players, 19/25 places filled. 8 of those injured. Still obvious deficiencies at full back, centre half and on the flanks. Probably going to be a couple of full backs, a winger and a centre half come in taking that number to 23 which is more than ample number, I don't think many teams in this division fill all 25 spots. Our squad isn't all that small, obvious inadequate numbers in defence, but plenty of depth in midfield. Ironic that other than missing a left back our defence is ok, and we have a crisis in midfield and up front. Bad luck with injuries. You can't go having 30 odd players to cover, particularly when many of the injured are the big earners.
If I remember correctly Slutsky said Mason was seeing a specialist last Monday, worryingly there has been no update.
Clearly Stewart shouldn't have started yesterday. Never known a club to have so many injuries and all long term ones.
The stewart injury is a worry, i wonder if he's got a history of injuries with this ankle, can't help thinking the "B" word.
Got an awful feeling that Stewart's injury going to turn into one of those, " when's he back" reply " two weeks"
