Yes, I thought Donald Trumps speech yesterday was better than the one the day before. Discuss :)

The Bone Yard near Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson , Arizona .

For those of you that have never seen this, it is something to see.The precision in the way they are parked is impressive.

It's difficult to comprehend the size of the 'Bone yard' and the number of aircraft stored there.

Of course the important thing to remember is that they are all capable of being returned to service if the need ever arises.

If you are ever in the Tucson area, the weekly tours of the bone yard are still given through the TucsonAirMuseum , located just south of Davis Monthan AFB.

Both the museum and the bone yard are very popular attractions in the Arizona desert. It is difficult to comprehend the number of military aircraft in dead storage until you see these photographs!

Even if you have seen this before, look again.
The 3rd largest Air Force in the world is sitting on the ground here. It's the only unit in the U.S. Air Force that actually makes a profit.

Australia didn't make the list cause were pre-occupied with public holidays, land rights disputes, 35 hour working weeks, long service leave, anti social comment, child care services, cost of living allowances and union strikes overriding any time given to serving our country.

We'll take a rain check, thanks.

I was on the Juan Carlos a couple of years ago in Cartagena Spain, an open day, very impressive piece of equipment it seemed to this nautically challenged land lubber, I had a Mr Bean moment when I got lost in the entrails of the interior and couldn't find my way out and the few crew members I encountered either weren't bothered or ignored my plight.
After what seemed like hours I stumbled upon the exit level and got the hell out of there. In all it was a great holiday

So, we have successfully established that the Americans are the biggest war mongers in the World. In fact, they could not afford to bring their military home from the 4 corners of the World - there are not the facilities in the USA. to accomodate them. So, they need enemies, whether imaginary or real - and, having established enemies (ie. anyone who objects to American soldiers being in their land) they have to successfully attach the label 'terrorist' to them. The sooner America realizes that their own country is failing, and that they are still a World power only in military terms, the better.

Can you separate politics from military matters in the case of the USA ? Use of the military is the number one assurance of the preservation of a World order which is beneficial to the USA - so how can you separate the 2 ?

I'm sure when the Russians start entering Germany, America and their troops will be your best friend.

So, it's the big bad Russian bear myth again. Apparently they are the aggressors when Nato is knocking at their front door - in blatant ignorance of promises perviously made to Gorbachov regarding Nato expansion. Before dragging up the Crimea, which I am sure you will, Putin was right in moving into the Crimea - it has been Russian for most of its history, has a 70% Russian population which voted for independence from the Ukraine (significantly higher than those voting for Brexit). Had he done nothing then there would have been a bloodbath there - as it was, the occupation of the Crimea was accomplished with very little loss of life. Have a long, hard look at Russian history. They have always been the biggest country in Europe, yet have only ever cast their eyes Westwards when directly threatened from the West, whether by Napoleon, Hitler, or as a buffer zone against Nato. I feel more comfortable with them as near neighbours than if I lived next door to the Americans.
