Not best not worst. We have a chance but even if they rest players it will be tough.

This draw is the perfect way to show we're worthy of a tie at Wembley. We'll be up for it and I reckon we can have 'em.

It's never an easy game, although they'll need to respect us every bit as much as we'll respect them. Don't think for a second they'll be confident of winning.

I'll bet they will be cheap again, not that they wouldn't sell out if they were £100 each. The club seem to regard home cup games as a chance to give something back to the fans, which is admirable.

Yeah it's good they have done that so far, I do expect the QF tickets to be nearer the £25 mark though.

On another note, big mention to the 9,900 Boro fans who travelled to Old Trafford last night. Hell of an effort! and what a night for them as well <applause> <ok>

But what did they say about us directly.? Are we an anonymous team who are playing Liverpool.?

I've noticed this even more this season and I'm getting slightly more prickly about it. In all honesty, I'm expecting a bit more respect for Saints these days. The seasons when, if we beat a team, they must have played badly, should be well and truly over. Over the weekend, listening to the SKY commentary, you'd have thought Saints were some kind of foreign team, the balance was so Us [Liverpool] v Them [Saints]. Admittedly, the previous NBC commentary was pleasantly neutral, but then that's as it should be with any broadcaster.

I'm actually beginning to laugh a bit about how the pundits are all repositioning themselves in respect to their views on Southampton FC. They've run out of ideas for the different ways of saying they're a well run club, because everybody and the dog is saying it now. They've nearly got fed up enough to stop saying they're a well organised unit. Now they look the questioner in the eye and announce they're a good team. Then one pundit will look at the other pundit, who'll agree, and if they return to the subject of Saints [which is doubtful] up will pop the line again they're a good team. Look out for it. I'm now waiting for the day when they put very in front of good. :)

I had to tweet BBC sportsday today who in their rolling news this morning reported on all 3 of the other matches last night but ignored Saints and Villa. Total lack of respect as far as I am concerned.

Yes, I mentioned this to a work colleague this morning - he's an Everton fan so understood what I was getting at. OK, I get that Middlesbrough beating ManU was the number 1 story and rightly so but to not even have a report... I think unless one of our players scores a hat-trick or we score 6 or more we're still considered to be pretty insignificant :headbang:

Mark Chapman on MOTD2, or Extra, or any of the countless [it seems] football programmes that he chairs on TV and Radio, often says something along the lines of, we'd better say something about Southampton before their fans start texting in again. :)

I generally find that amusing, but the BBC really ought to take a look at that and realise that, as a national broadcaster, unfettered by advertising, they have a duty to report the sporting news fairly and give the required time to each club. They waste so much time on Chelsea this or ManU that, when a couple of hours later they've be saying all the same things again. And it's not just Saints I get annoyed for. It's AFCB, WBA, Watford, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, for pete's sake and other teams who aren't of the favoured few. It must make the Everton fan's blood boil. They barely get a mention these days and they are a hugely successful club.

Tickets priced at £18 for the Liverpool game. Great stuff from Saints!
