Well, they aren't about to show the pee stains in Reed's bed or the hours of footage of Koeman curled up in the fetal position on the official Saints channel, are they?

 

Enjoyed that. Was good to be reminded about the 3 players we have signed already....easy to forget them in the uncertainty at the moment. Good video to calm down by.
Note that the walls round the swimming pool need repainting already or perhaps cleaning....have those naughty boys been throwing wet beach balls around. Maarten seemed surprised that the Academy lads had to clean his boots. Traditional as he said. Looking forward to the overseas clips soon.

 

Love that Ron has had a relaxing summer. Well, its alright for some! We seem to be doing all of the stressing for him as usual.

 

Makes you wonder when Les gets time off.

 

I read the first sentence of my own post and was nodding in agreement...a person with such perspicacity. Old age makes life so exciting....everything is new.

 

A very good watch yet again, the club are very good at this sort of thing. They've really come on in the last couple of years.

Glad you spotted this I was about to post that we need the head of the person who allowed this situation. But what a great little video. My missus has whinged at me for watching it while she wanted to talk gardens, but worth it. I liked the range of it - from kids signing new contracts to experienced pros being bought in. There is a genuine feeling of someone keeping a firm hand on the tiller.

 

I'm not 100% sure Stekelenburg was either. They're in the back. How many people truly put the belts on in the back seats.? I never sit in the back, but I'd probably put a belt on if I did.

 

Anyone getting in my car puts a seatbelt on in the back. LTL's car, LTL's rules.

 

Was amused to hear Sammy Lee is fluent in Spanish - he may well be but does anyone understand his accent?!

 

I hadn't realized he wasn't Spanish when listening to his interviews

 

Is it a case of passengers grabbing for their seatbelts when they see who is driving?

 

Hmm...I hadn't considered that possibility!

 

I was being driven by a friend who was so small, she was lethal on the road. I reached up for the hanging strap above the passenger door to find that someone had ripped it out before me.

 

A difficult episode for Saints handled well in this chapter of The March. Looked at the pain, dealt with it and looked to the future. Going to give cups some priority as a second route into Europe, but also intend to rotate the players, whilst insisting they are good enough. Onwards and upwards.

 

Yes, I think so too. I think the experience shook Saints quite a bit. They've realised there is more to this European stuff than meets the eye. They also realise that a club can't go into competitions ignoring outside influences and they need to learn from these errors. No previous Southampton iteration has done that well in Europe, and possibly the one with the best chance was banned because of Heysel. It's all part of the growth process.

 

We were very naïve and were there for the taking. We have to learn to be cynical and professional in the worst sense of that word.
