Look, I wasn't having a pop at Spurs. It is fact that Levy likes a deal (and why not, he's bloody good at it!) and during his time at Spurs, he's sold a fair few of your star players. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want/like to sell the best players really, but he's done plenty of it. We've sold a fair few ourselves too; Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Suarez, Sterling, etc. **** happens
I'd just repeat, all the key players sold demanded a transfer. Once a player's head has been turned and he clearly wants out, what other sensible options are there? An unhappy player is not going to put his heart into playing for you, is going to unsettle the dressing room, etc... Yes, Levy is a master at getting the best price. No argument there.,
Probably best mate. I've already been to the shop twice and bought two pizzas each time but by the time I get home I've ate them
I don't agree all yours threatened to strike etc but I'll take your word on it as you're more likely to know than I am. As for the highlighted bit, R.Ronaldo, Suarez and De Gea are great examples of what good can come from forcing them to stay. There are a lot more that don't work out though, granted.
As if you take walks lol. Plus you been ordering on 'Just Eat'. If you going to chat ****, make it convincing
To be fair, Suarez was gone the following season and I seem to remember Ronaldo going soon after too. As for De Gea, it was only because they ****ed up the paperwork on deadline day that he's still at Utd
Point is, you don't always have to sell immediately and forcing a player to stay (even if it is only one season) can turn out to be a great move. Didn't you guess do it with Fabregas, Henry and Viera?
We did with Fabregas, Henry decided to stay on his own accord, and Vieira was sold because he was past his best. But I do agree with the general sentiment
As Zanj says, there are times where a firm hand from the club can get the player back onside, but I'd have to agree in the most part, when a player's heart isn't in it anymore, then you're fighting a losing battle.
Spurs have joined Everton and Southampton in the race to sign Hull City defender Harry Maguire, 23. (Daily Star) If we want that player, we'll get him. End of.
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen, 29, believes Spurs have enough depth to continue to challenge in the Premier league, FA Cup and Europa League. (Guardian) You've got to love Jan! He's Spurs through and through, that bloke.
Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, is yet to commit his future to Manchester United for next season because of concerns about whether the club will qualify for the Champions League. (Daily Mirror) I'd love to have this player at Spurs.
