As soon as the commentators said that Redmond was stepping up to take the last penalty, I hid my face as I couldn't believe that someone who had been a doubt for the match was given that responsibility. Also, if the German keeper had to have notes in his sock, either the coaches didn't go through things with him properly before the penalties or he has a poor memory.
Could have saved 2 hours of my life. But to be fair losing on pens at the semi-final stage is not such a bad result. It strikes me with recent results of the youngsters there is hope for the future. And for the 'orns.
Looks like some of the top police officers involved in Hillsborough at the time are going to face criminal charges.
yes....and a good thing to..... they lied ................ and hopefully some closure for the families
My local team having gained promotion have ripped up their all weather pitch and have sown a proper grass one. The rain must be helping it to grow, but trying to get grass to grow at this time of year is a bit risky. Their home form last season was poor, yet the away games played mainly on grass produced points galore. If you watched the home games you could see that the ball doesn't have the same bounce as a natural pitch. Taking a lead from Watford they have also changed managers. The new one has a good record at the new level, and he takes over a team that has lots of young promising players. I suspect they will need to sign one or two with more experience. They did have one last year with loads of it, but he never fitted in and was sold in January.
Not a great advert for VAR in the Confeds Cup.. Too much time taken over decisions which weren't corrected.
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/fans-manchester-united-chelsea-seventy-13270454 The Football Supporters Federation vote unanimously to promote a national boycott of The Sun. Not before time, in my opinion.
As they were involved in Europe, they aren't taking part in the early stages of the League Cup - there were potentially 4 more European matches before their League season starts - they're having to hastily arrange pre-season friendlies.
Bradley Lowery - the young Sunderland fan fighting cancer has lost his fight. So sad - he seemed to fight this without any complaints and kept smiling/living his life. Heartbreaking for his family and friends.
Football fans Nation wide have been united in their support for Bradley! RIP little man and God bless!
