This is true at my company. Even if you're on holiday you should ring in sick, get sick pay for your holiday and get that weeks holiday back.
Yep I actually did this last year. Had a week off and was in bed ill the whole time. Mentioned it in passing to my boss and he encouraged me to claim it back. I did. At first I felt awkward, but then I realised that sick pay is for that...being sick. As our HR dept said, we don't expect you to take a day's holiday if you feel ill, so what is the difference. Suppose it is true i suppose.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education...alik-and-sadi/ A university's students union has become a "national embarrassment" after it picked Zayn Malik and Sadiq Khan as poster-boys for Black History Month. Students at Kent University pointed out that that neither Malik nor Khan are black and are both from British Pakistani families. Kent University Students Union are facing a huge backlash and the official UK organisers for Black History Month said they were "deeply disappointed" by the university. The student union at Kent University said they aimed to "empower" students through its Black History Month, where it chose six public figures to represent diversity, at a number of events throughout October.
More like brown history month. I'm surprised people are kicking up such a stink. Is it not ok to celebrate people of Pakistani descent? Do they get their own month? Where it's fairly "cool" to be black, if you're brown you're vilified as a terrorist and we bomb their countries.
It's "black history month" not Pakistani etc etc. I agree their should be a month for the middle east due to how much **** the UK did there or maybe they make BHM into a month to remember all the messed up **** the UK did to minorities. But come on you don't try and combine the two. Rightly they are getting called out for this.
Being diabetic I am strong enough to withstand any chocolate temptation put in my way (and if anyone believes that, you're totally insane...)
You've got to love insurance companies.... My policy gives me a courtesy car, which then insurers tell me is available and provided by the repair shop when they receive my car. My car was put on a recovery truck to get to Northampton while we finished the last hour of the journey by train to Edinburgh. The insurers told me that the repair shop would deliver a courtesy car to my house when they get my car. I had to argue and ask them to consider their moral obligation before they agreed to let me hire a car from here to get a family of four plus luggage home. They agreed. Nuts. Read your small print people.
Morning Fats, I work for a repair shop and thats how the industry works, where your vehicle gets repaired is where your courtesy car will come from, the only time this isn't the case is if your the innocent party then you would get a like for like vehicle from a rental car company.
Thanks Kitch. It's not the repair shop fault at all, just the insurance company's small print. You think you're covered because the headlines look good but reality is different. As an aside, ignorant question here: When the repair shop fix my car, will they have "specialists" with knowledge or able to make sure things like front sensors are all good? My car was collected by Jaguar Assistance and delivered back to my local Northampton Jaguar approved body shop, yet the insurance company are collecting it and taking it to their approved body shop. I have a small concern that my Jaguar warranty may get affected if the insurers choice isn't on a Jaguar approved list.
Depends who your insurance company is and the age of the vehicle, for our approvals we have to give a 5 year warranty on all our work and all the parts get a 1 year manufacturers warranty, We only use genuine parts but there are alot of insurance companies that have tie ins with parts suppliers and enforce you to use there approved parts supplier which 9 times out of 10 are of a poor standard. A good thing to remember in such cases is that it is your choice where you get your vehicle repaired, your insurance company will try to direct you to there approved repairer but at the end of the day its up to you where it gets repaired.
In case any of you are bored and in Hoxton tonight - Fable is doing a showcase at Underbelly in Hoxton Square at 19:45. Bags of industry types coming so could be the last time you get to see her somewhere so small!
I got my bumper repaired maybe 6 months ago, but now I'm looking at it and it's a slightly paler shade of red than the rest of the car. Do I bother taking it back to the body shop or just forget about it?
