Unless there is a more up to date variation of the rules, all Premier League clubs must submit a squad of up to 25 players, by 24 hours after end of August transfer window We are hoping we might get some pickings from those excluded from the lists. However, in addition to the 25-man named squad, clubs can use an unlimited number of players aged 21 or under. Also, once the transfer window opens again, there are no restrictions on how many changes clubs can make to their squads, so they can replace the entire 25 if they want to. And, even if a player is not named in the 25-man squad, they can still play in the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League or Europa League. So, unless some under 21s are given a clear message that they will not get a game this season any under 21 loan from the Premier League is likely to be on a call back. As regards over 21s we still have to wait until September before we can grab any of these (although I expect some grooming could be done before just in case) This means that with, for example, Stewart and Kashkett injured, we could be short of some key positions unless we can snap up some good loans/triallists fairly soon.
Maybe Chelsea will loan us a couple of young players after the way we looked after Blackman last season might go in our favour.
