I'm sure they're good, but the best? Of all Yeovil's many death metal groups? That's quite a claim.....

(whoever they are probably are the best in fairness ;) )

The COE is entwined 100% within British politics as they have representation in the House of Lords!

I have always felt that it would be best for a right wing party to set the tax rates and collect the revenue and for a left wing party to distribute it amongst society!

Best of both worlds surely :cheesy:

Going back to the voter apathy thing I will give my tuppence worth being I can't be arsed to vote anymore.

I have gone from one extreme to another with politics. I used to be very passionate about politics and spend quite a lot of time thinking and stressing about how our country was being and how it could be run.

I like stuff the Tory's stand for and also like stuff Labour stand for. I have voted for each party once, I was never a person to get all emotional and be a one party voter just because for example my Granddad used to always vote for any particular party.

As things stand we seem to have a clear choice between capitalism or socialism. I think they are both out dated ideals with good points but many flaws, that's just my personal opinion.

The one thing I have noticed in my almost 40 years on this planet is whichever party is running this country you can't stop the cycles of boom and bust. This is just one of the many faults with free market capitalism. Due to globalization we will never be 100% safe from a recession. If one country's economy messes up and does a smelly fart we will whiff the stink in our economy also.

I don't want anyone to think that as I can't be bothered to vote anymore that I look down on anyone who does, good on you whichever party you wish to vote for and fair play!

Again I used to stress out quite a lot about politics, I did not really notice too much difference to my lifestyle whichever party was in when I look back.

I just got bored with it all and decided to spend more time stressing about my own personal woes in life.

Oh one more thing that peed me off is stuff like PM's question time. It seems now like a waist of time, Dave and Ed just trade insults in a mines bigger/better than yours stand off. I just wish they could try to be more sort of grown up and have a good honest debate about sorting any issues out.

Victoria Ayling, UKIP candidate for the winnable for them seat of Grimsby:

"What happens when the renewable energy runs out?"

I think that's known as the end of the world Vicky. Doubtless the EU and immigrants will cause it.

Unfortunately I cannot vote in Britain, although I do not qualify as being 'mad' or in the House of Lords. British Citizens living abroad lose their voting rights after an absence of 15 years. If they are now living in countries where full naturalization is a condition for full voting rights then they can find themselves disenfranchized - I now have dual nationality but had I not done this I would have no voting rights other than for local and European elections. Bearing in mind that there are over 6 million Britons living abroad it would be interesting to know exactly how many of them have no voting rights anywhere.

If there is to be another coalition I'm secretly hoping that it's UKIP and the SNP purely so that we can have a coalition with the anacronym -
    "SPUNK IP" <laugh>

He seems to have a running battle with RIBA going back for years and I think his main problem was slating the entire industry's quality of work (possibly implying there is unlimited budgets for all).

One of the Chelsea 'fans' from the Paris train incident with his best mate (allegedly).

How did that song go again?

Anyone catch Green Party supremo, Natalie Bennet's interview with Nick Ferrari on LBC? The most dismal, embarrassing interview of a politician I've ever heard. Worth a listen, if you don't mind finding yourself cringing. Big up to Ferrari for dealing with her in a straightforward, commonsense way. In the end, Bennet reverted to fits of coughing to avoid answering questions of costing on her policies. If she takes part in the TV debates in an aggressive arena, she and the Green's are toast. Big mistake to take the leadership away from the Green's only MP, Caroline Lucas who is much more impressive.

That's the thing with parties once you get away from the main three. They become very one-dimensional when it comes to policies.

Examples: Green Party members will be very aware of their environmental policies, but what about other areas? Like their pledge to completely decriminalise cannabis whilst making tobacco and alcohol advertising illegal. Or their pledge to make affluent areas raise more local taxation through the council tax system that will then be sent to other areas of the country to shore up failing councils (yes, people of London - you'll be paying for bin collections in Oldham). Or their pledge to remove the compulsory redundancy age, thereby leading immediately to higher youth unemployment.

UKIP sheep will have 'immigration, immigration, immigration' ringing in their ears, and leaving the EU is a given. But did you know they have pledged to scrap all green subsidies, scrap HS2 despite the money that has already been spent (therefore stopping business growth in the north) and to reduce spending on health and education on order to build a new aircraft carrier?

Seriously people - if you're considering moving away from Tory / Labour / Lib Dem, please make sure you know what you're actually voting for.

Thanks for the warning, Chaz, but if I vote Green it won't be in the hope or expectation that they will form a government, it will be as a protest vote against the main parties. I imagine that many people intending to vote UKIP would have a similar intention.
