Youd think the council would be able to intervene here are are they too busy spend thousands of pounds blocking peoples drives with bollards
Because ignorant ****es block footways designed for pedestrians and people with prams and wheelchairs, or use a kerb lowered for a crossing point as a driveway, but a private development is pretty much **** all to do with them perhaps?
A private developer falling out with his demolition contractors, or messing up a hotel development, is **** all to do with the council. If the council are to intervene with any Manor developments, it should be the Lord Line.
Apparently, the utility company responsible for this mess are being forced to dig it all up and reinstate all the blocks... please log in to view this image
They're not. There are specific rules against it, hence the one pictured, and several others being required to do it again properly. Also, the utility companies have some scheme or other which is supposed to prevent one group digging up straight after another, and to make sure that they're put back to a suitable standard. Generally it's sub-contractors that have tend to dash in and away.
There's a vegetable garden on the corner next to Queen's garden/Alfred Gelder Street where the Wilson Centre is. It doesn't say anything about helping yourself though. Says something like "look how easy it is to grow your own veg" or something.
