Well it's not is it? They're thinking about coming up with a proposal, that's the first hurdle of about a thousand. I remember when it was 99% certain to become a new shopping centre until the planning committee refused the council's own backed application!
They've already spent a lot of money on this site, they got planning for a flash residential tower on the site, but shelved it in 2008 when the crash happened. It's not Manor Properties, it's a decent sized London developer and they'll have no trouble getting planning for a residential conversion. This is one they're doing at London Bridge at the moment... please log in to view this image
Who mentioned Manor? The point is they're not even part way down coming up with their own proposals yet. In direct quotes from their representative he said he understands turning it into residential properties "might work". That shows just how far they've got with it, ie not very. As he says, it might work, and great if it does, but my point - quite clearly - was it is far too early to get excited about it happening
I did. I was just making the point that at least this mob aren't a bunch of cowboys and that increases the likelihood of this one coming to something.
Ok, I hope it doesn't stay derelict for the rest of my life. That's my only hope. Didn't read the full article as at work. Soz.

I've just followed that up, out of curiosity. St. Peter Street - facing Drypool Green. I used to work in Ranks' office, on the corner of Gt. Union Street/St. Peter Street (1959-60)
I walked up St.Peters Street this morning, and It was clearly evident just how much more of a sense of space was in the air and the senses , after half expecting the monstrosity wall of the Flour Mill to fill up the view, only to be taken aback , that It was just all open space.
Has anyone else taken a look at the tenancy map at fruitmarkethull.co.uk? Finally starting to look good for Humber Street.
The link above takes you to the Fruit Market in Edinburgh for some reason, the tenancy map is here... http://static1.squarespace.com/stat...949f3b8951b2/1470132836115/Tenancy Map_A3.pdf http://www.fruitmarkethull.co.uk/
Manor Asset Ltd, the division of the Manor Property Group set up to handle the demolition of Clarence Mill has gone bust, after being unable to pay £72,500 owed to the demolition contractors. Manor say the £75m development will go ahead as planned. Dodgy bastards.
