Well... screw other teams... our fate is on our own hands now. So here's the remaining games and my thoughts on what points we will take from them. What's your thoughts? Chelsea (a) - 0 Stoke (a)- 1 Bournemouth (h)- 3 Leicester (a)- 0 Mackems (h)- 1 Norwich (a)- 3 Sothampton (a)- 0 Swansea (h)- 3 Liverpool (a)- 1 Palace (h)- 3 Villa (a)- 1 Spurs (h)- 0 Man City (h)- 1 TOTAL POINTS- 17 CURRENT POINTS- 24 FINAL TOTAL- 41 Basically if we can do better than a draw against mackems we could seal our safety.
Schteve until the end: Chelsea (a) - 0 Stoke (a)- 1 Bournemouth (h)- 3 Leicester (a)- 0 Sunderland (h)- 0 Norwich (a)- 1 Southampton (a)- 0 Swansea (h)- 1 Liverpool (a)- 0 Palace (h)- 0 Villa (a)- 1 Spurs (h)- 0 Man City (h)- 0 Doomed I tell ye. Schteve replaced after Sunderland defeat - unbelievably with a decent manager: Chelsea (a) - 0 Stoke (a)- 1 Bournemouth (h)- 3 Leicester (a)- 0 Sunderland (h)- 0 Norwich (a)- 3 Southampton (a)- 0 Swansea (h)- 3 Liverpool (a)- 1 Palace (h)- 3 Villa (a)- 3 Spurs (h)- 0 Man City (h)- 0 A sliver of hope.
We have must win games: Bournemouth Swansea Villa at home. Then we need to at least get draws in mackems at home and Norwich away and we will be fine. But lose some of those matches are we're ****ed. If we get an away win it will be at Villa or Stoke.
Honestly, looking at it though, Norwich have another terrible run in. If you look at their matches, the most likely they probably think they can win is against us and West Brom away. Next they play West Ham then Leiceister, then Chelsea, ManU Man City, Arsenal, Mackems, ending with Everton. Having seen this, unless the Mackems really start winning a lot we ought to be ok.
Chelsea (a) - 1 Stoke (a)- 0 Bournemouth (h)- 1 Leicester (a)- 0 Mackems (h)- 0 Norwich (a)- 3 Sothampton (a)- 0 Swansea (h)- 1 Liverpool (a)- 0 Palace (h)- 3 Villa (a)- 3 Spurs (h)- 3 Man City (h)- 1 TOTAL POINTS- 16 CURRENT POINTS- 24 FINAL TOTAL- 40
Jesus, was reading that thinking it's unlikely then saw the points total was still only 41! Eeek. Chelsea game - the boys are on tv, put us down for 3 points
Norwich losing to Villa was a real and unexpected gift for us. Bournemouth are certainly not out of it either. They have that 4 point cushion on us but have a hideous run in - losing to Arsenal at the moment, then; Stoke, Watford, Southampton, Newcastle, Swansea, Tottenham, Man City, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, West Brom, Man Utd Obviously they'll pick up some extras but the only 'likely' 3 pointers left for them are against us, Villa and West Brom (if they play like yesterday).
Sunderland are probably our relegation danger team. I expect them to take some confidence from coming back against Liverpool and get at least a point against ManUtd, 3 from Palace, probably 3 from us and then also wins against West Brom and Norwich. They'll probably also get something from Watford on the final day.
I think whats really important are the games right before the derby. If we get beat 3-0 at Leicester as per usual...it doesn't bode well, likewise Mackems are playing Everton at home. If they somehow win that, beat us..then they have West Brom after..hell, they'll survive at the expense of us me thinks. If we somehow play ok against Leicester even if we lose and they get beat by Everton, then we draw them or even win... Mackems gonna find it tough to even beat West Brom and all might be done by then. I don't think they'll beat or even draw ManU. ManU are getting their **** together now. Liverpool throwing a 2-0 lead was a joke. Albeit Defoes goal again was excellent. He's a world class finisher.
Chelsea (a) - 3 Stoke (a)- 3 Bournemouth (h)- 3 Leicester (a)- 1 Sunderland (h)- 3 Norwich (a)- 3 Southampton (a)- 3 Swansea (h)- 3 Liverpool (a)- 3 Palace (h)- 3 Villa (a)- 3 Spurs (h)- 3 Man City (h)- 1 35 points Currently on 24 End of season 59 points and 9th position
Don't be ridiculous. It's obvious Leicester will be nervy before we get there, so that's 3 points and then Man City having secured 3rd won't show up so that's an even easier win. 65 points could pop us into the Europa League. Job done.
I'd love that. Though the main priority is us staying up I will actually be sad to see Sunderland go down, partly as I'm not sure if they would come back up in a hurry. Villa and Norwich are, I think, the most doomed right now.
