27 Jul 2015 14:51:46 Bristol City set to announce two deals: Antolin Alcaraz, to add experience and defensive depth. Also, Bobby Zamora to compete alongside Aaron Wilbraham. 26 Jul 2015 22:37:34 Bristol City look set to snap up free agent Bobby Zamora on a one year contract, with personal terms all but finalised, the striker has family living in the region and this is thought to have influenced his decision to relocate in the latter stages of his career.
As long as wages don't break the bank, then I think Zamora will be a good signing at this level. Wes Burns could learn a lot from a player like Zamora
Could be a load of crap but we live in hope.. TFS Bristol City@TFS_BristolCity 3h3 hours ago #bcfc fans, our window is picking up! News on 4 new arrivals to be shared tomorrow morning! Exciting times so tune… http://dlvr.it/BgfWCN
If Zamora and Alcaraz is true, that is two bargain signings. Alcaraz still has a year or two in him, and has superb pedigree and experience. Zamora I've always liked, as he works hard and for EVERY QPR game I watched last year, he was there stand out performer in my book, both quality and effort. We are signing experience it seems, but that will blend beautifully with our fairly young and at this level inexperienced squad. Good professionals as well. Jussi Jaask - My all time favourite Prem goalkeeper, could still do a job, especially at Championship level.
01 Aug 2015 23:34:58 Fullham striker Matt Smith is nearing a move to Bristol City, it is thought that he is unhappy and has been told he is not in Kit Symons' plans. It is likely he is to go back on loan to Bristol City with a option to sign permanently.
How old is Konchesky these days? Still not sure Smith is Champ standard, a loan is a good way to find out!
I think I read he is 34 and Cotts is a 'big fan'......... Matt Smith I think he could be a good championship player and scored a couple of times for Fulham after his loan with City (imo)
Be surprised if a larger percentage of City fans DIDN'T want Matt Smith back, I'd certainly welcome him given our current striking predicament. Saw the Konchesky rumour, and def don't see where he fits in at 34 and the wages he will be looking at. Good player, but don't think we need him unless they are looking to use him as a central defender?
PK could be the calming experienced player to keep a level head with all the young 'uns around him...think Wade Elliot and Wilbs?...who knows? Matt Smith I think would be a decent championship striker.
Cant think that he wouldn't have signed this if we were thinking of bring in another keeper. Good to know he has signed and no doubt a back up will be sought http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/fielding-pens-contract-extension-2590527.aspx
