They did Comm, they were great mate. I took my mate to see the stranglers last month and then to see the damned last night. He reckons I'm the best mate in the world because both gigs were brilliant. The damned were better though, sensible and vanian are legends. And at £16 a ticket, it was an absolute giveaway. Crowd were going ****ing mental.
Love watching some of the old bands. Last time i was home i went to Newcastle to see Bad Manners. Crombies and Doc Martins a plenty. I even raided me mams loft to find me old oxblood docs.
Brilliant, Comm I'm still buzzing from last night. I'm playing Machine Gun Etiquette at full blast in the house. And my ears are still ringing from last night. Had about eight pints of cider as well so the heed's banging as well
Exactly Comm, I said to mate that we can't top the Damned. They are one seriously good live group. The Buzzcocks are on at Sunderland uni next month, don't think they could ever be as good as the Damned. At one stage, Sensible was playing the guitar over his head. He's a massively under-rated guitarist.
Uni's and areanas, or big outdoors gigs, what do you prefer? 2 of the best i've seen were a band named King Kurt, at Reading Uni, then i saw The Macc lads, in Newcastle, both mental and superb. I also saw the original Madstock gig in Finsbury park. For some strange reason, i'd like to go to a Slipknot concert...
Comm, I prefer venues like Sunderland uni or the carling academy in newcastle. Both very tight-knit, close to the band and you are standing. I don't like places like the Metro Arena, I don't think the atmosphere is as good and more likely than not you'll be seated. I quite fancy Madness at Carlisle racecourse in the summer. Not sure how good they will sound outside though.
Madness are always a good gig, but these days the old buggers will probably sound better indoors. Up the nutty boys.
