Ok on a serious note ideas for the trust. I know it may come into the OSC's patch but how about some fund raising events, sure you have expenses. Could be a meet the trust night with a raffle, a band playing somewhere with an entry fee, or a coach to an away game. If you can't get to meet the club then meet some fans.
As constructive criticism is not for this thread, and I'm only a City fan, seemingly I'm not allowed to voice an opinion.
The Trust are involved in other projects other than attempting engagement with the owners. Raising awareness for Bloke's United along with the shirt sponsorship of Blokes United FC is commendable They met with club representatives in November & reached agreement that supporter engagement was a necessity They are involved with discussions involving the FSF, & the PL trying to clarify certain rules & simplify their interpretation. They've actively supported other Trusts. The HCST football team (think it may have been suggested on here) have matches planned. People should seriously get involved they are a lot more than a single issue group.
Finally suggestion number 3 Updated on first post See everyone? All this thread was for was for people to post suggestions...not to bitch and moan
While I agreed with that when suggested it wasn't in the original rules so feel free Even Happy has a suggestion in Suggest away
Is there a possibility of pulling together a trust junior team, or perhaps some opportunities to help disabled supporters to have a team in a suitable activity? I know it's City fans that are prominent in the wheelchair football team. I appreciate it's hit and miss and hard to arrange, but I know a few from CI fanzine used to try to meet up with away fans for a game of football odd games prematch. It seems a reasonable way to spread the message and get people involved, even though I can't see it being for more than a few occasions a season. One thing that comes to mind, is something I raised before, the trust acquiring a street traders license and offering 'Unofficial Hull City' products for sale around the ground. It's a visible presence, and could raise some funds. It also paves the way for supporters to suggest different products and designs that could be added to the range. As an added bonus, it could highlight the value of the continued use of the Club name. t'd be good if people chucked a few design ideas onto here, The 'Irrelevant' tee shirts that someone from Amber Nectar produced were first rate. Could go for a gawdy amber based retro look. "Tie Dye when I want" What about suggesting they trial a fan to join the match radio team as a summariser/pundit?
Cheers Couple of things in there What's the match radio team though? (showing my ignorance I'm afraid)
A supporters group conference, possibly with the focus on support rather than protest. HCST HCOSC HCSS Tigers Trust FSF SD More banners in and around the ground, home and away. I'm not sure how this could work, or if it would work at all, but I was hearing about something they do on a motorbike forum, and wondered if it'd work for here. I see it as a thing that could help community spirit, but I guess the fact I'd never heard of it could suggest it's pants as an awareness raiser though. Basically, they have a couple of club shirts or banners that they pass on like a batton. So if one lot from down south have a ride up north, they take the shirt and hand it to the northerners, who then take it, say to a group on mainland Europe etc etc. photographing it at various landmarks and events. It'd work fairly well domestically, going home to Southampton, Manchester, Scotland etc after games, but it'd be interesting to see if we could get a global element, and possibly get the team and other dignitaries it meets on its travels to sign it.
I don't know what this looks like, and I doubt this is going to go down well with certain areas, however, it's probably fair to say that that there has been some success, but what is currently being done hasn't been particularly successful in getting rid of them (such as the Allam out protests). It's also clear that Ehab is egotistical and arrogant and the more you push him, the more he pulls away in the wrong direction. So to flip it on its head, could we go to him with areas that we agree on and find some common ground; things like we both agree that fan engagement is a necessity, we'd like to support you on this and meet to discuss how we can develop and improve on that. A couple of olive branches might give him a little tickle under the chin and get the trust in front of them again. Where to from there I don't know..
I wouldn't disagree with that at all, but haven't the Trust already done that? They have written and offered to meet but been blanked as far as I'm aware Trying to get Ehab to meet a representative of the Trust is a good idea, but I assume it needs to be kicked off in a different way as so far he hasn't wanted to (possibly because he doesn't agree that fan engagement is important?) Or am I missing something?
