What Exotic meat or fruit have you chaps tried and what was it like?
The most exotic I've tried is probably Crocodile which was a bit too salty.
I've heard insects are big food in Asia? (Jakarta - any view?)

Kangaroo burgers, so tasty and so lean. As gourmet as a burger can get both for taste and quality.

Kangaroo burgers are sublime. Very good for you.
I've also tried Piranha on a trip to Brazil and it is quite a flavourless fish.

Eaten roast ants in Colombia and crocodile salad in Papua New Guinea. Roast ants a lot nicer than they sound. Big and very crunchy. Crocodile nothing special. Was introduced to sheep stomach soup in Turkey - locals have it after a night on the Raki. Swear it stops any hangover.

I was in tunisia and they tried telling me that they were giving me chicken, but there was no way in the world, way too tough and chewy. I'm definatley of the opinion that it was camel

I had reindeer burgers in Norway and they were really good. I explained to my 6 yr old recently. "It wasn't Rudolf was it dad?" The missus just stood shaking her head at me.

Wagyu on half price offer! That's very very tempting, not a rump fan but could make an exception for Wagyu.

Not tried it. Its mostly stuff made into sausages, meatballs and burgers. For things like this I prefer to get my meat in its least processed form and usually just have steaks unless Im at a restaurant and or abroad.

Wagyu used to be illeagal here until recently?

That's what I did with my kangaroo, just bought it minced and formed my own. If it's burgers, I like to make my own to get the seasoning right

It's a pity that things like Rabbitt and Wild Boar are not more widley available, both lovely if not exactly exotic but you just can't get either easily.

A wagyu fillet and striploin fillet is worth the money if you love your steak. It would have to a special occasion to justify me spending that much though! And if it was that special occasion I'd want someone else cooking it for me!

Speaking of dining out, if you are looking to do Sunday lunch a bit special somewhere, go to Peace and Loaf in Jesmond. Three courses would normally be £25 but we got charged £18. Got my beef pink and it was ridiculously good. None of this small portions either, they were generous and staff were great.
