SKUNKS 3-0 DOWN Swansea loss Bournemouth loss Norwich loss Looks like the pope has been putting in a good word for us, to someone in a higher authority who can influence our destiny. gerrin ya fekker
All too often it seems that we lose and every other result goes against us, which is a bit of a pisser for the whole weekend. Today though has been golden. We certainly look a lot more like a prem team than we did before the January window, staying up doesn't seem as unlikely as it did a while back.
Good weekend may it continue. It's just great to Sam signed a few players but I believe his best move was to get rid of a few players no names.
With the new signings, for the first time this season it seems like survival will be down to whether we perform, rather than hoping that our rivals underperform. If we can play as we have done in the last 2 home games, and show the fighting spirit of the Liverpool game, then we WILL stay up.
Even though we got off to bit of a lucky start, the big thing to take from today's game was the pressure we built up in the second half. No more sitting back Sam please.
8 wage burners out + AJ hoying himself out is v. well done. Only one sale, but I don't see any of the loans coming back to us. 3 high quality players in, a covering keeper and a solid lad up front with more about him than DG and the heckler put together. A job well done
Hmm we look thin in both fullback positions, cm and the wide positions. While I believe Sam has made some cracking signings I think we're light in quite a few areas. Great business conducted but not enough of it done for me.
Not think you`re being a bit hyper-critical Bri? He`s got rid of some crap and brought better in. Small steps but steps in the right direction. It was also the first opportunity he had to do something and he took it. His hands were still tied by FFP. I know what you`re saying and I agree but I don`t think it`s realistic to expect him to sort it out in one window. Simply too much to do imo.
That`s fair enough. I suppose the key is patience. We all wanted a massive overhaul from day one. The big plus for me is the immediate impact of his signings. Straight in and a big difference. Wasn`t expecting that mind.
Bridcutt, Gomez, Buckley, Graham, Fletcher, Coates and Pantilimon all off the wage bill and for differant reason Johnson too. A hell of a lot of deadwood in that list. The signings we made are a vast improvement to what went out in my opinion. It's unrealistic to expect BSA to sort the mess he inherited in one window....in my opinion.
It was never going to happen in one window of course, I'm one of the first to say squad evolution takes time, but letting more out than you bring i when you don't have full squad already is going to leave us short. But the new signings look excellent, keep the big players fit and we're in with a shot.
