Here be a thread for you to ask any strange questions you always wanted answering. The wise men and women of not606 can then do their best to answer. I'd like to know why some dog owners hang full dog poo bags off trees?
Its because they dont put those little spikes on lamp posts anymore. please log in to view this image One thing that puzzles me is that if hair is designed to stop you losing heat in cold climates why does it grow faster in tropical climates?
Is it true that you are heavier in certain parts of the world due to gravity, or has someone been telling me porkies?
Its actually the gravitational force which changes, due to 3 factors (earth not being exactly spherical, composition of crust, altitude). Had to google gravity in various major cities but variation works out at about 0.4%. Unfortunately if you live in Thailand you are already in a relatively low gravity spot so to get the best effect you need to move north (or south) and live up the biggest mountain you can find. One of lowest gravity points on earth is Huascaran in Peruvian Andes so get to the top of that and you will weigh least. You will probably lose a lot of weight getting to the top (its 6700m) as well so its win-win.
Missus has just sent me this you-tube links for a Brit struggling with a puzzle: And we thought we had problems.
Why is it that as soon as you enter the drivers seat of an Audi or a BMW you automatically become a knobhead? Why are the majority of British people allowed driving licenses when clearly they can't drive? What is up with all the recent violence over petty little things (like a seat on a tube)?
The majority [not all] of Audi/ BMW drivers actually think that they are driving an exclusive car when they aren't. Audi's and BMW's are dime a dozen. They are no more exclusive than say Vauxhall, Renault, Citroen or Peugeot. They are just more expensive because of the name/ badge. Give me a Maserati any day. Expensive and rare. Now that is exclusive. Likewise TVR's. We should have a minimum speed limit in this country. If you are doing 40 MPH on a motorway in a fully working car you shouldn't be behind the wheel as you are a danger. Likewise people that drive too slowly in general. They are probably the cause of more accidents. People are just violent.
Things that puzzle me/grip my ****. People referring to car crashes as "accidents", though people aren't doing it on purpose they aren't accidents. They are caused by someone doing something they shouldn't or not doing something they should. It's mainly a gripe of mine given my job but I can't tell anyone that someone they know has been in an "accident" as it just seems too casual and can suggest no accountability.
If something isn't intentional it is accidental. There is nothing in between. An accident can be blameless or the result of gross criminal recklessness. It is an accident either way.
If you are in the US eating you will be heavier because the portion sizes are larger. In Mongolia, where a grain of rice is a feast.. You will weight less. It also depends on if you are carrying a poo child and if tge contractions have started.
I think sometimes accidents are accidents. I really dislike how we have shifted to always having someone to blame. I do get what you are saying, but accidents can happen due to a blown tyre (with legal tread), an animal running into the road, a sudden unforeseen medical condition, etc. I don't think it is fair to apportion blame in those situations
Why have charities started employing people to knock on your door 3 or 4 times a week to harass people into donating, especially since they pay commission on those donations which means that they don't get a penny of the donations for the first year!
Was Karl Benz obsessed with strangling people? When he invented the car he created the clutch, throttle and choke!
