http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/03/sun.../sunderland-struggle-to-sell-out-derby-match/ I'm very suprised to hear this, why do you think we're struggling to sell out for such a massive game?
The only thing that springs to mind is many are fearing trouble due to the way it is being policed...It worked through Newcastle simply because Sunderland fans on the whole know how to conduct themselves..It will not be the same here with Mags undoubtedly taking advantage of the change in policing to create trouble..
That's crazy talk mate. Sunderland fans would behave in just the same way as we would with the odd twat acting up. For every JPF there are many QWOPs and for every TUM there are many RAW's!
Sorry mate, but on this occasion i have to disagree..I have never witnessed anything from Sunderland fans that I have from Newcastle fans, with the riots and punching horses ans setting fires..This kind of behaviour has went on for years at St James, and I believe they are up there with Leeds and West Ham for the worst behaved fans ever..I can honestly see there being loads of bother on Sunday with the change of police tactics..
Absolute bollocks that's spouted before every game by the Mag press. The only tickets left are singles in the far flung corners of the ground, 4 or 500 maximum. Failing to get behind the team We'll have around 45,000 Sunderland supporters for a home game ......... much the same as Newcastle managed in their recent game against Man Utd. They haven't sold out a fair few derby games and had big gaps in the 5-1, I was there and have photos. Are the Geordie faithful failing to get behind the team
Unfortunately, I don't just agree with Al . . . . I have no doubt, whatsoever, that there'll be a fair few Skunks causing lots of trouble on Sunday, simply because they are going to allowed to do so by the idiocy of those 'in charge' ! I will not be going for a pint beforehand, because I will have to be with my daughters and son to protect them as best as I can, from the idiots that will be 'hell bent' on causing as much trouble as they can in our city These arseholes have already spoilt the day for many like myself, and they'll be 'as proud as punch' to do so because that's what they are !
Well these people, in my eyes, are not proper fans. I'd be more inclined to sup a few beers and have banter with the Sunderland fans rather than go out and knock seven shades of crap out of you (as if I even could, I am a bean pole ). That being said, if you have your youngens with you, I wouldn't risk it regardless
It may not be at the SOL or the Metro stations, it may not be in town or the Colliery Tavern but somewhere in Sunderland there'll be trouble. The police took a massive risk in the last derby and, despite the outbreaks of fighting, just about got away with it. I was there and the overriding feeling was that no one wanted to be locked up over Christmas, me included. There was also the 'MH17 victims' factor when Sunderland people didn't want to let the club down. This match will be entirely different because Newcastle supporters have a history of trouble no matter what the circumstances.
I'm up for this on the way to Northunberland to visit my folks for Easter. My gf is coming with me but not to the match. I'm worried sick about what she can do while I'm away. Metro centre was the plan but it's closed. She wants to just stay in the car but you don't know what it's going to be like. Why can't they just police it properly?
There's 496 tickets left, The seats that are left are countable, nearly all of them are to the back of the Premier Concourse and a few to the back of the North Stand. Wouldn't want to be anywhere the north stand myself
Hope the stewards search the vermin thoroughly. As long as it takes. Even if they miss the start. **** em.
