Already over the weekend we have had more media coverage than for the rest of the season, mainly about the unfolding drama that was crazy by any standards. So this level of scrutiny is now to be the norm for the coming season and maybe more so than our last appearance in the Premiership. The Allams are suggesting European football is achievable, interesting times at the KC.
Certainly this last weekend will go down in Tigers history arguably their finest achievement. In the Allam's interview he said the FA had commented that no other club had gone from the verge of extinction to gain promotion to the EPL as quickly as City have. On the European front he did qualify his comments by say it could be done through a cup competition.
Certainly be another giant leap forward for City if that came off John European football after winning a major trophy. I would be happy to see City consolidate their place in the PL and not be a Wigan type club and hanging on like we did the first time round. I never foresaw the currant situation a year ago, City already in the PL and no heart flutters over a play off final, well done all at the KC.
Well I guess a step onto the European ladder was the U17's winning 2 tournaments this season in Holland and France It would be nice to see the first team emulate, or at least participate in my life time.
Happy birthday Chris Chilton. So much pleasure given to so many by such a loyal, gifted & humble footballer. The memories of that brilliant' 60s team will never fade. He was such an integral part and in many ways a leader by example - hard working, fearless, unselfish and incredibly talented...it seems so few of the modern day footballers possess anything that comes close to that spectrum of attributes. He had them all in abundance. A copy of the program from "Chillo's" testimonial match against Leeds United, played in May 1971. It's a testament to Chris that probably the best team in Europe at the time ( ok, I know, but we didn't hate Leeds in those days) saw fit to recognize and honour our true legend. Even the legendary referee, Mr. Fussey, (who for years gave supporters all over England a great laugh every time he did his sprint after blowing his whistle), showed his appreciation of the man. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Once again...Happy Birthday Chris Chilton, and many more thereafter
Hull Tigers makes us stand out from the crowd of other teams with city in their name............ it is very dynamic, very 21st centuary. we had Hull City for too long. but if the little Englander's would have their way... "keep CITY cos it's tradition" ....... so is languishing in the bottom division, struggling to keep our head above water. There USED to be a joke, "whats yellow and slides down the table?" yeah you guessed it.. "Hull City"......... so much for tradition! Times change people, get with the new centuary!
you sure? it doesnt look right either way, with an a or without... I was taking a chance putting 1 in - my spell check didnt like it either.

I'm temporarily unsticking this just to make room for the others. It will be back when there's more room.
