http://www.hullcitytigers.com/club/since_1904/ Sadly the club can't be arsed to update its own history on the official website. June 2012 was two years ago.
Can someone (one of the mods) change the title of the thread to 'City History'? This current title just seems dirty and spoiled.
Hull City afc I would actually bet money that NO ONE on here would even dream of glasses anyone. Half the stuff is tongue in cheek and banter . I bet there's not one person on here that wouldn't pick you up if you fell down in the floor despite all the ranting raving name calling crap This is the best forum on the internet and the best posters are on here despite different views and opinions . Macca I guess it's different for me .I like the idea of dying when I want .....and not when I have been told I will in the past ...so I quite liked the die when you want quite Now **** off the lot if you iv got a bloody shed to empty out..clean up ...paint and all before the Argentina game
I wish I could die when I want to, instead I guess it will sneak up on me when I'm trying to cross the road or something stupid.
Now the transfer sticky threads are gone, I'm sticking this one again. It was only unstickied in the first place to make room for others.
My brother in law was given a book of City newspaper headlines since 1907, I haven't been through it all yet but one headline stuck out, and that was the Xmas time clash with Millwall at Fer Park in 1965 had record takings of £7,427. for an attendance of 40,231.
It was the last Christmas time home match I saw before leaving the UK mid 1966 having seen them all since 1946. Some cracking games played in that period some of which have previously been discussed on this thread. 1965/66 was a champions year for City and Millwall finished runners-up with both teams streets ahead of the third placed club. Although we won the match 1-0 the following day we played them again and they had their revenge winning 3-0 at the Den.
I was at the game against Millwall at home, remember them having to put some kids sitting around the cinder track next to the pitch as the stands were full.
Yes John the Chelsea FA cup replay was like that as well and considering we never reached the top flight in those days we had some fantastic attendences. Although I always tried to get to the Bunkers Hill/South Stand end sometimes I just had to go where there was a space and being of a small stature I often spent entire matches on my tiptoes.
I faced a similar height problem when I went to BP as a kid. Finally found the perfect spot at crowded matches. I perched at the very back of the North Stand in the centre of the goal hanging on to a roof support with my feet on a 3 inch wide metal ledge. Needed help to get up and down but it was always given.
Lol nice one Bear I remember some supporters actually climbing up amongst the floodlights when they were situated on top of the East and West stands before we got the super pylons, I wasn't one of them though.
Interesting one OLM any idea of when these cards were published? But the name Ogdens rings a bell did The Who have an album with that name in it Ogdens Nut Brown Flake or something?
On second thoughts I Googled this and it wasn't The Who it was The Small Faces album Ogdens Nut Gone Flake. please log in to view this image
I haven't heard it OLM but there again I had and still have a bias to the 4 lads from Liverpool although I liked the Small Faces singles, still preferred their London rivals The Kinks. Mind you I wasn't a mod
