I remember in my last year in the UK in early 1966 going to see City play QPR at Loftus road in a 3rd v 2nd epic battle. It ended up 3-3 but I cannot remember details of how the scoring went.
I have seen this before but can't remember if it was in this thread or not. Famous Football Teams In Training No.1 - Hull City (1935)
The Blue and White kit did not bring us any luck, nor fame, in that season(1935/36). Finished stone cold last in the old Div 2! Also the worst defensive performance ever with over 100 goals conceded for the only time in our history together with our worst ever goal difference of minus 64.
I believe they actually kept the bluddy thing on during a match although never seen it even before my time I think.
One of our better signings even at this stage in Bremner's playing career, he was a class act when many of the players around him were bottom of the class, Bremner had an awareness about him that I hadn't seen for a long time. I lost count of the many through passes, splitting defences in the process, that he did only for city's players to be too slow or thick to take advantage. Another player of the same ilk but a lot younger but just as tough was Ken Knighton it was a sad day when he was transferred, but that's city they sign some good players but my goodness they do take on some dross. Ken Houghton had decent passing ability but didn't seem to have the steel of Bremner or Knighton.
It was crazy that Bremner never became our manager. I though there was some kind of gentlemen's agreement that he should be manager when he came but instead we ended up with Bobby Collins

A decent enough goalie he just didn't have the panche of Keckers, but we have had some fine goalies over the years dating from the Billy Bly era.

We did not play Carlisle in 1966 at Boothferry Park. Played them at BP in the 1966/67 season 0n April Fools day 1967 when the attendance was 19,000 plus. I wasn't there.
I agree we have had some fine keepers over the years, my top choice for all round ability would have to be Tony Norman. If it was based on bravery and service to the club it has to be Billy Bly.
Perhaps because Bremner never actually trained with City choosing instead to train with his old team mates at Elland Road. Bremner and Collins never pulled any trees up in their managerial careers and come to think of neither did Eddie Gray.
