Funnily Col I read yesterday that it was due to Les and that it was always a non-starter as Neil didn't want people interfering. The thing is we will never know until he writes a new book.
He was s22t on twice by TF and I really don't think we would be in this position now if he had stayed on. Football may not of been great but we wouldn't be relying on other results each week.

Oh the irony. He wanted Les' job. He didn't want people interfering but was fine as long as it was him doing the interfering :emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Arsenal assume their normal position against Bayern, 0-1...

Awful penalty by Sanchez but a great recovery to score especially after missing the easier chance from the rebound off Nauer......

But bloody hell those Bayern players know how to whinge and whine at the referee.......every decision that goes against them 3 or 4 surround the ref.....

Most European games have that level of whingeing, Arsenal missed a couple of gilt-edged chances, could prove costly...

Arsenal's soft under belly being exposed in Munich....3-1 now to Bayern and it could end up any amount the way Arsenal are being ripped apart at the back....beautiful set up by Ledendowski for the 3rd.....

Arsenals' annual exit from the last 16 of the European Cup is pretty much complete, may as well forfeit the 2nd leg........5-1 now for 2nd year in succession against Bayern.....

Cheers Ellers, that made me laugh <laugh> Very funny :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Though I feel for Wenger, a genuinly nice man and maybe the manager apart from Alex Ferguson, Ottmar Hitzfeld and Jupp Heynckes I respect the most.

Spurs lose 1-0 to a mid-table Belgian team. That was tough viewing, very poor from Spurs:shocked:

Did Spurs put out a weakened side? If so they got what they was deserved.....why do that when there's a chance of lifting a European trophy? I'd love to see the R's have another European adventure......I live in hope.....
