Personally, anyone that thinks going down to League One may be needed is talking cr2p. Been there, done that, got the Tshirt. It was a blast but I never want to return. It will only be a step backward. It is not about going backwards it is about going forward. Remember it's a sport and you are supposed to win. I would rather have Warnock than a Holloway. I would rather have an Austin than a Smith or Sylla. Although I don't like Arry or Hughes you cannot compare Hollow to them when it comes to winning things.
I agree with the post from LFW and Tramore's comments. For me the key statement is "...this is a rebuilding job that could take another 5 years." I fear, that whatever people post, there is a massive expectation on "quick results" thus the "desire to buy".
Didn't we say the same when we were in the Premier League? Once you're in a nosedive it can be hard to pull out of...
Anyone watched Adam Peaty? He's smashed the world record in the 50 metres Breaststroke twice today, he already had the 100 metres world record, clearly in a class of his own...
We're all along for the ride Beth; and many of us have for all those years too. Nobody here is walking away. I think many of the board care too, but there needs to be a balance of due diligence and investment in the team - not chalk and cheese. That said, it is a sport of opinions. While many may not like the realism of others, they as fans have the right to voice them. Otherwise why bother with a forum. The good thing is that it is generally well behaved and with good debate. The fact we have polarised opinions is a sure sign that something isn't right, The one thing that does seem common is that everyone is crossing their fingers for the coming season. Not sure that is a suitable strategy for a multi-million pound business.
Is that game against Bournemouth our last pre season game? It's flitted by quite swiftly this pre season.
Just watched the first half of France v England in the Women's Euros quarter final. England really are very poor. I think some of the players have some ability, but they're obviously being coached to hoof the ball forward early, leaving the lone striker completely isolated. I find the overall standard of Women's football pretty poor but England are a real throw-back to hoof ball. The Coach needs to be replaced imo.
Good win against the tournament favourites. Next up are the hosts, we've got the momentum so anything is possible. Germany and Spain both out so we're in with a shout...
